It was an inspiring week in Houston for Gary Woodland, who posted a final-round 62 on Sunday to leap into a T2 finish. This was the highest finish the former Jayhawk has had since returning from brain surgery 18 months ago. He had been showing signs of form all season, as he ranks fourth in driving distance (315.2) and 12th in proximity to the hole (34 feet, six inches). His strokes-gained metrics haven't necessarily been there, though, as his 46th ranking in strokes gained on approach (plus-0.389) is his highest ranking. He should be licking his chops coming to TPC San Antonio after finishing T6 and T8 in his last two starts in this event, especially if his dominant putting we saw at Memorial Park continues -- he gained 8.72 strokes. At $10,000 on FanDuel, Woodland seems to be peaking at a very opportune time.--Todd McGill - RotoBaller
