ANALYSIS: There come times in fantasy football where adding players completely speculatively works out well. In the case of Denver Broncos running back Audric Estime, it might be worth it. Both the running backs ahead of him on the depth chart, Javonte Williams and Jaleel McLaughlin, haven't played well this season.

For fantasy teams that are desperate for running back production, taking the RB that has potential on a team with two other running backs that have shown they clearly aren't fantasy relevant is a good idea. Williams fumbled last game and was horribly inefficient and McLaughlin has had awful efficiency.

Being early is key to winning in fantasy football, and identifying backfields that are due for a shakeup is one of the best ways to pick up productive players for free. In deeper leagues, Estime should absolutely be rostered. It's a matter of time before he gets his chance, and the bar set for him to exceed is very low.
If he doesn't do anything after a few games, he's fine to be dropped, but it's more than likely that if he's a decent running back he'll get a lot of work over both Williams and McLaughlin.
UPDATE: Estime contributed minimally in a blowout win against the Saints and fumbled the ball. Williams had a big game. Estime should be headed to the doghouse and should be dropped.
