Ezekiel Elliott fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks for Week 1 (2024). Should you start or sit Ezekiel Elliott for fantasy football lineups?
BALLER MOVE: Start in 14+ Team Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: RB3
ANALYSIS: Running back Ezekiel Elliott is back with the Dallas Cowboys after spending the 2023 season with the New England Patriots. Elliott had a subpar year with the Patriots, rushing for a career-low 642 yards and 3.49 yards per carry. However, he has a chance to be fantasy-relevant again in 2024 with the Cowboys.
Dallas only added Elliott and Dalvin Cook to its backfield this offseason after losing Tony Pollard in free agency. Nonetheless, given the veteran's age (29) and the tough matchup against the Cleveland Browns defense in Week 1, the former Pro Bowler is more of a fantasy RB3 to start the season.

In 2023, the Browns allowed the 10th-fewest rush yards per game (103.8) and only nine rushing touchdowns to the running back position. As a result, Elliott is a risky option in most formats in Week 1. Still, he could be a fine flex play in 14-plus team leagues -- given his touchdown upside in this Dallas offense.
