Spire Motorsports driver Corey LaJoie will start 24th in this week's Cook Out 400 at Richmond Raceway. This is LaJoie's lowest starting position at Richmond since 2022, when the Next-Gen car was introduced. In 13 previous races at RR, LaJoie has no top-20 finishes, with his best finish being 21st, which was obtained in spring 2021 and spring 2023. Through 22 races completed this year so far, LaJoie has eight top-20 finishes, including three of the last four Cup events. In practice, LaJoie ranked 16th in overall lap averages and ranked among the Top 10 fastest in the 10, 15, and 25 consecutive lap average categories. Despite the fast practice speeds, LaJoie is hard to trust at Richmond as one of his worst tracks statistically. LaJoie's salary is low enough that he can be used in any DFS format while leaving cap flexibility. However, there are better alternative driver picks with more upside around his price range who displayed more consistency this year and at Richmond in the past and should be rostered over LaJoie.--Sean Engel - RotoBaller
