The 2024 NFL Draft had several elite wide receiver prospects. Marvin Harrison Jr., Malik Nabers, and Rome Odunze were top-10 picks. Meanwhile, Brian Thomas Jr., Xavier Worthy, Ricky Pearsall, and Xavier Legette were all first-round selections.

Then on Day Two of the draft, there were several talented second-round wide receiver prospects, including Ladd McConkey, Keon Coleman, and Adonai Mitchell who all saw their names called. There's potential for all three to have some fantasy value as rookies.

Ladd McConkey, WR - Los Angeles Chargers - 2024 Fantasy Football Outlook

McConkey had an impressive college career for the two-time national champion Georgia Bulldogs. Last year, he struggled with injuries but still had 30 receptions for 478 receiving yards and two touchdowns in nine games. McConkey is a talented route runner who should quickly become quarterback Justin Herbert’s replacement for Keenan Allen. Furthermore, the rookie has limited competition for targets in the offense and could pop for your lineups right away.

Keon Coleman, WR - Buffalo Bills - 2024 Fantasy Football Outlook

Some in the fantasy football industry have concerns about Coleman’s ability to separate against man coverage on the outside. However, he was productive at Florida State and Michigan State before that, totaling 50 receptions for 658 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns in 2023 for the Seminoles. More importantly, Coleman could become quarterback Josh Allen’s No. 1 wide receiver early in his rookie year after the Bills moved on from Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis this offseason.

Adonai Mitchell, WR - Indianapolis Colts - 2024 Fantasy Football Outlook

After barely playing during his two years at Georgia, Mitchell became a focal point of the Texas offense after transferring in 2023. He set career highs in several receiving categories, including receptions (55), receiving yards (845), and touchdowns (11). Unfortunately, the former Longhorn has no chance of being a No. 1 wide receiver as a rookie, with Michael Pittman Jr. signing a massive extension this offseason.

However, Mitchell should still have meaningful fantasy value as a go-to target in the red zone, as well as his potential big-play ability as a deep-threat receiver on the outside coupled with quarterback Anthony Richardson's incredible arm strength.

Which Rookie WR Should I Draft in 2024?

All three rookie wide receivers should have fantasy value this upcoming season. However, McConkey is the guy fantasy players should want to draft first in half-point or full PPR leagues. The former Georgia star has the least amount of competition for targets on the Chargers. Furthermore, he is the best route runner of the trio and could quickly turn into Herbert’s go-to guy in the middle of the field.
