Allen was originally matched up with Marvin Vettori, who suffered an injury. Allen entered the bout riding a six-fight winning streak. Five of those wins came by way of submission. After five rounds, the judges scored 48-47, 47-48, 49-46. In 25 minutes of action, Allen landed six takedowns and 112 significant strikes.
