ROSTERED IN: 37% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: Pittsburgh Pirates left-hander Aroldis Chapman collected his first save of the season in Monday's win over the Washington Nationals. The 36-year-old has yet to allow a run with a 3:0 K: BB ratio across 2 1/3 innings in 2024. Chapman is the fourth different reliever for the Pirates to convert a save this season.

The veteran has been electric this year, as his 42.2% Whiff percentage and 41.4% K percentage are in the 100th percentile per Baseball Savant. He topped 101 mph on the radar gun and mainly relied on his four-seam fastball to get batters out. Despite how good Chapman has looked, it's still David Bednar's job to lose. The 29-year-old racked up 39 saves while posting a 2.00 ERA and 1.00 WHIP over 67 1/3 frames for the Pirates in 2023. Bednar appears fully healthy after being unavailable for Opening Day due to a lat injury and has recently pitched in back-to-back games.
Chapman is the most experienced reliever the Pirates have and has racked up 322 career saves. He has also recorded over 100-plus strikeouts in five seasons. The veteran will continue to be Pittsburgh's top setup man and should be rostered in all league formats that count saves and holds as a category. Chapman is widely available, as he's only 37% rostered in Yahoo leagues. Fantasy managers, especially those with Bednar, should look to add Chapman to their rosters. The southpaw could easily collect double-digit saves while posting elite strikeout numbers and sold ratios.

BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ team leagues CALL-UP ETA: July ANALYSIS: Unlike many players currently in the minor leagues, Chandler Simpson has proven he can be a valuable fantasy player at the MLB level. Brady House - Fantasy Baseball Prospects Waiver Wire Stashes (Week 12)
BALLER MOVE: Add in 12-team leagues CALL-UP ETA: June ANALYSIS: The Nationals went viral on social media this week for making a fun call-up. They called up their bat dog from Triple-A. While this was very cute and should improve the vibes a little bit in Washington, I don't think Bruce the Bat Dog will help […]

Samuel Basallo - Fantasy Baseball Prospects Waiver Wire Stashes (Week 12)
BALLER MOVE: Add in 12-team leagues CALL-UP ETA: June ANALYSIS: Samuel Basallo might be the best hitter in the minors right now, and he has catcher eligibility. What more do you need to know (I know catcher is super deep this year, but still)? Basallo has been an age-to-level monster for the majority of his pro […]

Andrew Painter - Fantasy Baseball Prospects Waiver Wire Stashes (Week 12)
BALLER MOVE: Add in 12-team leagues CALL-UP ETA: June ANALYSIS: Painter's last two starts don't give a ton of confidence that he is ready to be in the majors. It may not even be before the All-Star break before we see him, but that does not mean we are in stash territory. The good news is, […]

Colby Thomas - Fantasy Baseball Prospects Waiver Wire Stashes (Week 12)
BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ team leagues CALL-UP ETA: July ANALYSIS: The A's continue to lose, and Colby Thomas continues to hit homers in Triple-A. The A's just got swept by the Angels, bringing their record to 26-44. While plays like Denzel Clarke's HR robbery can generate a spark for a team, the A's might need […]
