New York Islanders defenseman Ryan Pulock has been placed on injured reserve due to a lower-body injury. The IR designation means he must sit out a minimum of seven days which rules him out for three contests versus the Kings, Maple Leafs, and Ducks. The right-shot blueliner was struck in the leg by a shot from the Blue Jackets' Zach Werenski on Thursday and actually played six more shifts before sitting out the remainder of his club's 7-3 defeat. The 29-year-old has collected two goals and six points across 25 games on the season while also adding 37 hits and a hefty 66 blocked shots in that time. The Islanders have been hit hard by the injury bug on the blueline as Adam Pelech (upper-body) and Sebastian Aho (upper-body) are also out of action.--Brenton Kemp
