Jaleel McLaughlin is a fantasy football waiver wire pickup option for running backs. Target him as a free agent add off waivers for Week 7 of the 2023 NFL season.
BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 54% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: While Jaleel McLaughlin was one of the hottest waiver wire adds over the past few weeks, the rookie had a rough fantasy outing last Thursday against the Kansas City Chiefs. The 23-year-old went over 10 touches for the third week in a row. Teammate Javonte Williams played fewer snaps overall in that game but was more efficient on his ten touches.
Samaje Perine worked into the offense as well, but it is clear that the Broncos are going to use the tandem of Williams and McLaughlin the most moving forward. It remains to be seen if head coach Sean Peyton will take away snaps from Perine after his fumble last week, but regardless, Mclaughlin will still be a solid addition to any roster this week with the slew of running back injuries across the league.
The Broncos next matchup against the Green Bay Packers is one to target. They allow the sixth-most fantasy points per game to the running back position and an average of 106.8 yards. Since we have seen McLaughlin finish as a top-10 fantasy asset in two of the last three games with an average of just 10.3 touches per game, he is a solid flex option for those in need.
It is likely that Javonte Williams remains the "starting running back" in this new timeshare, but McLaughlin has plenty of juice and can do a lot of damage on a small amount of touches. The rookie has a shot to be a reliable flex this week and potentially more moving forward.
