Corey Lajoie qualified in 22nd place for Sunday evening's Cook Out Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway, which is significantly better than his other starting positions at this track in the NextGen car. In the three Darlington races with this car, Lajoie has started 34th twice and 30th. He has finished in 35th, and in 24th twice in those races, respectively. In practice this weekend, Lajoie laid down the 22nd-fastest overall lap and ranked 16th-fastest when it came to 10-lap average. Given his recent performance at this race track and his slightly-better-than-normal speed in practice on Saturday, it wouldn't be all that surprising to see the No. 7 Chevrolet challenge for a top-20 finish.--Jordan McAbee
