Washington Commanders defensive end Chase Young (neck) still hasn't been cleared for contact after suffering a stinger in the preseason opener and is expected to meet with a doctor this week, according to multiple people briefed on the matter. Young is progressing nicely, but it's unknown if the 2020 Defensive Rookie of the Year will be ready for Week 1 against the Arizona Cardinals. He hasn't taken part in a full practice since Aug. 11. The good news is his stinger isn't related to the significant knee injury that Young suffered in 2021 that cost him 22 games. He eventually had surgery to fix a torn ACL and ruptured patellar tendon in his right knee. The 24-year-old's stinger shouldn't be a long-term issue, but he'll be off the fantasy radar in IDP leagues until he proves he's fully healthy.--Keith HernandezRead More News
