Michael Lorenzen Making Phillies Debut Thursday
10 months agoPhiladelphia Phillies starting pitcher Michael Lorenzen will make his first start for his club on Thursday against Johnny Cueto and the Miami Marlins. The 31-year-old was acquired before the trade deadline from the Detroit Tigers after authoring a 3.58 ERA (3.88 FIP) and 1.10 WHIP with a 5-7 record across 18 games. Lorenzen doesn't strike many out, posting a 19.9% strikeout rate, but his ratios are helpful in most leagues, and his value should increase while on a competitive team. Fantasy managers looking for rotation help can add the right-hander from the waiver wire and start him against a Marlins offense that ranks 17th in baseball with a .722 OPS.
