Philadelphia Flyers forward Noah Cates has inked a two-year extension. Philadelphia locked him up with a $5.25 million contract that has a $2.625 cap hit. The 24-year-old was initially set for salary arbitration as a restricted free agent, but an agreement was found before a third party was needed to settle the issue. Cates is coming off his rookie campaign which he ended with 13 goals and 38 points across 82 appearances. He was ranked sixth in scoring among all first-year players. The former fifth-round pick has received a lot of praise for his defensive work as well and he should only get better with more experience.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
