Denny Hamlin was a skeptic coming into Chicago but a common refrain from drivers is how impressed they are with the setup. The Joe Gibbs Racing driver did not reach the mythical 90 mph on any of his practice or qualifying laps. However, he was able to snatch the pole from Shane Van Gisbergen in the final moments on Saturday. His lap of 88.435 seconds was good for 89.557 mph. Hamlin also had the fastest five and ten-lap averages at around 90.4 seconds. If Hamlin's can keep the car straight and his pit crew does not make a mistake, the No. 11 may have Chicago figured out.--Chris Wassel - RotoBaller
