Zack Short Moving Up To Leadoff Spot Tuesday
11 months agoDetroit Tigers utility player Zack Short will move up to the leadoff spot Tuesday night when he takes on Kansas City Royals left-hander Daniel Lynch. The Tigers are stacking right-handed bats on Tuesday with all nine of their starters swinging from the right side. Normally regarded as a glove-first player, Short has had a solid season at the plate with a .253 average, three homers, one steal, and a .723 OPS across 88 trips to the plate. He does his best work against lefties as he is hitting .333 with a .991 OPS against southpaws this season, although he still owns a modest .632 OPS in his career against lefties. However, Short's improvement at the plate this season makes him a nice streaming/DFS option, especially out of the leadoff spot on Tuesday.
