Tony Pollard 2023 Outlook: Should Repeat RB1 Season
Splitting the backfield with Ezekiel Elliott in 2022, Dallas Cowboys' running back Tony Pollard ran for 1,007 yards and nine touchdowns and added 39 receptions for 371 yards and three scores through the air. He had his strongest season by far, good for the eighth overall running back finish in fantasy and his first ever RB1 season. Heading into 2023, Pollard should see even more volume than he did last season with Elliott now off the roster. Currently, his only competition for touches in the backfield are former UDFA Malik Davis, journeyman Ronald Jones II, and sixth-round rookie Deuce Vaughn. Dallas could add a veteran through bringing Elliott back or bringing in someone like Leonard Fournette or Dalvin Cook, but if they keep the room as is Pollard should see a lion's share of the work. As it currently stands, Pollard has RB1 overall potential and should be a smash play this season if he stays healthy.
