The Green Bay Packers restructured the contract of linebacker Preston Smith on Saturday, according to a source. The move created $6.668 million in salary cap space for the 2023 season. In addition to Smith, Green Bay also did the same for star cornerback Jaire Alexander to free up $9.456 million against the salary cap. The 30-year-old Smith has stepped up his game the last two seasons with the Packers, recording 97 tackles (63 solo), 18 tackles for loss, 37 QB hits, 17.5 sacks, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries in 33 games played. Green Bay will be hoping that he can continue to be one of their most consistent pass-rushers in 2023.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
