New York Islanders goaltender Semyon Varlamov (lower body) will miss Monday's matchup against Colorado and the team considers him day-to-day. The veteran netminder exited Saturday's 5-2 victory over Vegas late in the game with an injury and hasn't recovered in time for Monday's contest. It's a bad blow for Varlamov, as he had started to get more action lately and performed superbly by going 4-0-1 in five starts. He is 8-3-1 overall for the campaign with a 2.65 goals-against average, a .919 save percentage and one shutout. Varlamov's absence means another start for Ilya Sorokin, who has struggled to perform lately, dropping five straight decisions. Getting back on track against the defending champions won't exactly be as easy as pie either.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
