BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 47% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: The New York Jets won't ever stop generating headlines, will they? They started the season with Joe Flacco at quarterback and the uber-veteran put up gaudy numbers. Then Zach Wilson came back and even while getting putrid fantasy outcomes he was good enough to keep Gang Green afloat.
It's now Mike White at quarterback... and rookie Zonovan Knight excelling at RB after the Jets traded for James Robinson only to (almost) not even put him on the field. Sheesh...
James Robinson scored 20, 16, and 20 PPR points to kick the year off. Then simply sucked. Then got acquired by the Jets. He's now been in New York for more than a month and in four games with the Jets, he's scored a total of 16.7 PPR points with a 13.3 explosion along with three turdy 1.7, 1.0, and 1.0 outcomes.
That (at least of late) has been mostly because of the out-of-the-blue coming of age experienced by rookie Zonovan Knight, who has been thrust into an RB1 role by the Jets coaches. He carried the rock 14 times for 69 yards in Week 12 while catching all three of his targets for 34 yards back then.
Knight is now coming off his season-best game to the tune of 90 rushing yards on 15 carries for an average of 6.0 YPC. That topped his prior-best 4.9 YPC set a week ago against Chicago when Knight already entered the RB2 realm finishing as the RB24 of the weekend. He's the RB10 of Week 13 with 16.8 PPR points, as he added a 5-of-5 for 28 receiving yards to his stat line.
It feels like Robinson is the odd man out of the backfield with Michael Carter poised to return soon and Ty Johnson getting the pass-play snaps. Don't chase Knight crazily because of the former returning and the latter's pass-catching upside, which combined could limit Knight's opportunities, but definitely roster and keep an eye on Carter's health.
