NHL DFS Analysis and Picks for 10/25/22

Tonight we ramp up to a decent-sized slate with only two teams playing on a back-to-back: New Jersey and Dallas. The opening top-3 highest implied team totals are: Minnesota with 4.2, Florida with 4.1 and Columbus with 4 goals. I will do my best in guiding you through this ten-game slate on DraftKings and FanDuel starting at 7:00 p.m. EST.

Vegas Odds for the Day

NHL DFS Goalies

Sergei Bobrovsky- DK $8.6K || FD $7.8K

Opponent - Chicago Blackhawks

Another slate the Chicago Blackhawks are on and another slate we will pick on them. The hosts have been scoring much more as of late, however, it has been against lesser teams than the Florida Panthers – with a 5-4 win against the Kraken on Sunday –. Florida has shown that they are not invincible, however, the Blackhawks are the third-worst offense in expected goals for – 11.23 – and the third-worst offense in scoring chances for – 114 –. Yes, you will pay the premium price for netminder on the slate taking Bobrovsky, but he will seek out high ownership and it will help in building the ‘cash’ lineups with a prime matchup.

Others To Consider (Cash/GPP): Husso (DK $7.8K || FD $7.6K), Comrie (DK $7.5K || FD $8.5K)

Centers

Boone Jenner-DK $6.1K || FD $5.2K

Opponent - Arizona Coyotes

We come into this slate with Jenner set up in a prime matchup against the Coyotes' poor defense. The Coyotes give up the sixth-most goals in the league, despite being in the middle of the pack for expected goals against and scoring chances for. Jenner is the ideal center for DFS purposes because of his two-way play. He is currently averaging 3 shots per game and 2 blocked shots per game, as well as scoring 1 goal and assisting 3 goals through 7 appearances.

Steven Stamkos- DK $7.9K || FD $10.2K ** Stamkos is a winger on FanDuel **

Opponent - Los Angeles Kings

The goal machine is back for yet another round and this time with the defenseless Kings. The Kings are 15th in expected goals against, however, they are the second-worst team in goals against – 20 – and the fourth-worst in scoring chances against – 167 –. Stamkos currently co-leads the league in goals with 7 goals in 6 games. The best part about his production is his shot volume – 4 shots per game –. Keep in mind the shot bonus on DraftKings is 5 or more, meaning Stamkos is that close to getting an extra 3 fantasy points each game. This is setting up 'Stammer' for an ideal meeting on Tuesday night.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP): Suzuki (DK $5.5K || FD $6.7K), Thompson (DK $5.1K || FD $5.7K)

NHL DFS Wings

Wings

Dominik Kubalik- DK $4.7K || FD $5K

Opponent - New Jersey Devils

Kubalik was mentioned a few times in this article so far and as of late he has not disappointed. The winger has not looked back since his promotion to the top line of the Red Wings, scoring 2 goals, assisting 5 goals, taking 13 shots and blocking 1 shot. Those are elite numbers for the salary he is at. Add in the fact that the Devils just got beat 6-3 by the Capitals and now travel to Detroit makes this matchup even better for Kubalik.

Sean Monahan- DK $3.7K || FD $4.8K

Opponent - Minnesota Wild

Monahan looks to be re-gaining form after a few years in the bottom-six in Calgary due to the lack of production. The center, now converted winger had 1 goal, 2 assists and 6 shots in his last 3 games. Overall, he has 2 goals, 2 assists and 15 shots through 6 appearances. The Wild are the worst defense in the league in goals against per 60 with 5.26 goals thanks to horrendous goaltending. This is an ideal spot for Monahan at a palatable salary to save for elsewhere in the lineup.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP): Kucherov (DK $7.7K || FD $8.7K), Zuccarello (DK $7K || FD $7.5K)

NHL DFS Defensemen

Victor Hedman- DK $6.8K || FD $7.2K

Opponent - Los Angeles Kings

The veteran defenseman is once again a big part of the Lightning offense, assisting 1 goal in each game besides the home opening loss. Furthermore, Hedman is averaging, 3 shots and 1 blocked shot per game. Those are solid peripherals for a defenseman and something you need when building ‘cash’ lineups. The Kings are the eighth-worst defense in scoring chances against per 60 – 32.52 –  and the fourth-worst defense in goals against per 60 – 4.36 –. This is a prime spot for Hedman.

Brandon Montour- DK $5.2K || FD $4.3K

Opponent - Chicago Blackhawks

Montour is now back and with that, he has supplanted teammate Gustav Forsling on the power-play once again. Montour is also back to top pairing minutes and he will remain there until Florida makes a trade or one of the defensemen becomes healthy. Surprisingly enough, Montour has not been the biggest offensive contributor considering the number of opportunities. However, he is still averaging 2 shots and 2 blocked shots per game. As long as he can do at least that against the Blackhawks, he will make value and some.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP): Dahlin (DK $7K || FD $7.1K), Werenski (DK $6.9K || FD $6.4K)
