Toronto Blue Jays catcher Danny Jansen had a big night offensively in Thursday's 6-5 win over the Boston Red Sox, going 3-for-5 with a home run, one RBI and two runs scored. It was a big game for Jansen, who has been mired in a slump in the month of August. Including his three-hit performance on Thursday night, he's hitting .189 (7-for-37) with a home run, five RBI, five runs scored and 10 strikeouts in 12 games this month. The 27-year-old backstop is slashing .213/.278/.457 with 10 home runs, 26 RBI and 19 runs scored in 144 plate appearances over 42 games for Toronto in 2022. Jansen will continue splitting playing time behind the dish with Alejandro Kirk, who has been much better offensively.
