The San Francisco 49ers signed veteran free-agent safety Tashaun Gipson to an undisclosed deal on Monday, according to a source. Gipson will join the Niners after starting 12 games for the Chicago Bears in 2021, recording 47 tackles (33 solo), one sack, two interceptions, three passes defensed and a fumble recovery. The 32-year-old was a Pro Bowler back in 2014 with the Cleveland Browns, and he has 563 career tackles (408 solo), one sack, 14 tackles for loss, five QB hits, 27 interceptions (three for touchdowns), 57 passes defensed, one forced fumble and three fumble recoveries in 140 games (132 starts) with the Browns, Jacksonville Jaguars, Houston Texans and Bears.
