The San Francisco 49ers signed free-agent defensive lineman Akeem Spence to an undisclosed one-year deal on Monday. In a corresponding move, the team placed defensive lineman Maurice Hurst (biceps) on Injured Reserve, ending his season after he suffered a torn biceps at the start of training camp that required surgery. Hurst will end the year on IR for the second season in a row. Spence, who was originally a fourth-round pick by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2013 out of Illinois, played in just one game for the Washington Commanders last year. The 30-year-old hasn't had a sack since 2018 with the Miami Dolphins and will simply be providing interior defensive line depth with Hurst done for the year.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
