San Francisco Giants starting pitcher Alex Cobb (groin) will be placed on the injured list, according to Giants manager Gabe Kapler. The move could be made prior to Game 2 of the team's doubleheader against the New York Mets on Tuesday, which would allow the team to add relief pitcher Yunior Marte for bullpen depth. Cobb suffered a groin injury while running to cover first during Game 1 of Tuesday's doubleheader. We still don't know much about the severity of the injury, but he is slated to undergo an MRI. Following the results of the MRI, we should have a better idea of how long we can expect Cobb to be sidelined. For now, expect him to miss at least his next two starts.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
