Max Meyer Dominates In Second Start
3 years agoMiami Marlins pitching prospect Max Meyer shined through five innings in a lights out performance for the Triple-A Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp on Tuesday. In his outing, Meyer faced the minimum of 15 batters and was perfect with eight strikeouts. He is now 1-0 with a 2.00 ERA, two hits allowed and 13 strikeouts in just nine innings over two starts. Although he doesn't possess the prototypical pitcher profile at just six feet tall, Meyer's work speaks for itself. With good secondary pitches to compliment a fastball that can reach 100 mph, the third pick in the 2020 MLB draft has a true shot at rising to the show in short time. The biggest obstacle for Meyer is the fact that the Marlins have a good starting rotation and have no reason to rush the right-hander to the big leagues. However, Meyer can always force the Marlins hand and that's something that could happen at some point throughout the 2022 campaign. He should be on the radars of managers in all formats at the moment.
