The Tampa Bay Lightning acquired left wing Brandon Hagel from the Chicago Blackhawks on Friday in exchange for forwards Boris Katchouk and Taylor Raddysh and two conditional first-round draft picks. Hagel, 23, made his debut for the Blackhawks on March 11, 2020, just before the season was paused due to COVID-19. Since then, the Saskatoon native has developed his offensive game and he joins the defending Stanley Cup champions with 37 points (21 goals, 16 assists) including four power-play goals through 55 games played this season. If Hagel was able to find that kind of scoring success on a below-average team like the Blackhawks, his offensive impact is sure to be even greater now that he has joined the Lightning.--Chelena Goldman
