Wide Receiver Waiver Wire Pickups - Top Fantasy Football WR Adds for Week 8 Include Romeo Doubs, Keon Coleman, Ricky Pearsall, Tre Tucker

Keon Coleman - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, NFL Injury News

Justin Carter's fantasy football WR waiver wire pickups for Week 8 of the 2024 NFL season. His free agent wide receivers to add, stream, and stash off waivers.

Week 7 of the 2024 NFL season is almost behind us. It was an exciting week of football, but it was also a week that let us fairly light on options for our Week 8 wide receiver fantasy football waiver wire pickups list, as there just weren't a ton of guys who stood out.

Below, you'll find some wide receivers that you should be targeting on the fantasy football waiver wire ahead of Week 8. Not all of these waiver wire options are the same. Some players may be better in PPR or deeper leagues, so it’s not a one-size-fits-all comparison. Use your best judgment when deciding which of these players is the right fit for your roster.

Be sure to also check out our Waiver Wire Adds for Week 8 for help at all the skill positions. All players on this list are around 50% rostered or below.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

Wide Receiver Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Pickups

Romeo Doubs, Green Bay Packers - 44% rostered

That one-game suspension might be the best thing to ever happen to Romeo Doubs. Last week, he came back from his absence to catch two touchdowns. Then this week, Doubs was targeted 10 times against Houston, catching eight passes for 94 yards.

With Jordan Love throwing the ball, there's room for multiple fantasy-relevant receivers in Green Bay. The problem has been that there are too many mouths here, so figuring out who will be those guys each week has been tough.

Doubs is certainly starting to look like he might be the best weekly bet to take on this offense. He has two really juicy matchups in the next two weeks against Jacksonville and Detroit.

Keon Coleman, Buffalo Bills - 32% rostered

We finally got the breakout we'd been hoping for from Buffalo Bills rookie Keon Coleman this week as he caught four of his season-high seven targets for 125 yards. How weird that it happened to come in Amari Cooper's debut with the team.

Or maybe it isn't that weird. Having a true No. 1 changes the way teams defend you and that seemed to open up some opportunities for Josh Allen to get Coleman involved in the deep passing game. In a week where there aren't many receivers worth adding in shallow leagues, Coleman is worth a shot to see if this role continues.

Ricky Pearsall, San Francisco 49ers - 13% rostered

The 49ers got some pretty bad news this weekend as Brandon Aiyuk suffered a knee injury during Sunday's game. The team fears it's a torn ACL, which would end his season.

But the good news is that the team got rookie Ricky Pearsall back this week. Pearsall had been out since he was shot before the season in a robbery attempt. Now, he has a good shot to be the team's No. 2 receiver going forward.

Deeper Wide Receiver Fantasy Football Pickups For Week 8

Tre Tucker, Las Vegas Raiders - 10% rostered

After trading Davante Adams, the Raiders will be relying more on Tre Tucker going forward. He was targeted eight times this week, catching three passes for 36 yards and adding an 11-yard carry as well.

Brock Bowers has already turned into the team's best weapon and the return of Jakobi Meyers from the ankle injury that's cost him the past two games will eat into Tucker's usage, but Tucker has flashed big-play ability since entering the league and should have fantasy appeal in this new-look Raiders offense.

Troy Franklin, Denver Broncos - 1% rostered

Denver's No. 1 receiver, Courtland Sutton, wasn't targeted on Thursday. That was probably a blip on the radar, it does make me take notice of rookie Troy Franklin, who was teammates with quarterback Bo Nix at Oregon.

Franklin was targeted six times this week, twice as much as any of the team's other wide receivers. He caught five passes for 50 yards and seems to be taking control of the No. 2 role. The Broncos don't throw a ton, but in deeper leagues you want to roster a team's No. 2, even if that team struggles to throw the ball consistently.

Cedric Tillman, Cleveland Browns - 0% rostered

The Amari Cooper trade opens up space for someone else to make an impact in the Cleveland passing game. You might have thought that person would be Jerry Jeudy, but he was only fourth on the team in targets in Week 7.

Cedric Tillman had 12 targets in this game, catching eight passes for 81 yards as he looked like the team's new No. 1 receiver, but I'm not fully ready to endorse him in fantasy as he hadn't been targeted since Week 3 and entered the week with three catches for nine yards on the season.

This whole thing is made even more confusing by the fact that we don't know what the Browns are doing at QB now. An Achilles injury Sunday ended Deshaun Watson's season, so it'll either be Dorian Thompson-Robinson or Jameis Winston under center now.

Mason Tipton, New Orleans Saints - 1% rostered

With Rashid Shaheed out for the season, the Saints are looking for someone to step up as the No. 2 behind Chris Olave. Olave missed this game with a concussion and rookie Mason Tipton wound up with nine targets. He brought six of those in for 45 yards. I think he's most likely to emerge from the muck that is the Saints receiver room.

Elijah Moore, Cleveland Browns - 1% rostered

Tillman's performance this week suggests he'll benefit most from the Cooper trade, but Elijah Moore had a solid game as well, catching six of seven targets for 41 yards. It was his best game since Week 2.

Moore has some appeal with the team making a quarterback change, but he also has just two games all season with more than 17 receiving yards.

Kalif Raymond, Detroit Lions - 0% rostered

Jameson Williams has four or fewer targets in four consecutive games, including one catch for a loss of four yards on his only target this week.

Meanwhile, Kalif Raymond has 10 targets since the bye week, twice what Williams has in that span. On Sunday, he caught three passes for 39 yards and his first touchdown of the year. Could he be surpassing Williams in the pecking order?

Tutu Atwell, Los Angeles Rams - 10% rostered

Cooper Kupp is set to return next week, but Puka Nacua is still out and thus there's still room for someone to produce next to Kupp. The issue is it seems like it might be a different guy each week, but Tutu Atwell has 19 targets over the past two games while Jordan Whittington and Demarcus Robinson were no-shows in Week 7.

Cedrick Wilson Jr., New Orleans Saints - 0% rostered

Cedrick Wilson led the way with six catches for 57 yards and a score for the Saints. Do I believe it's a sign of things to come? Ehh. I prefer Tipton, but there's a chance Wilson has more good games.
