Fantasy Football Trade Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider trading for or trading away heading into Week 9:
Quinshon Judkins, RB, Browns
Trade Value: 53.6
ROS Rank: 38
Cleveland Browns running back Quinshon Judkins (shoulder) exited during the third quarter of Sunday's Week 8 contest against the New England Patriots. He was initially listed as questionable before being downgraded to out. Fortunately for Judkins and his fantasy managers, the Browns have a Week 9 bye, giving the rookie 14 days to recover before his next game (Nov. 9 against the Jets).
In the event that Judkins' absence lasts multiple weeks and keeps him sidelined coming out of the bye, Jerome Ford and Dylan Sampson would be in line to lead Cleveland's backfield.
Verdict: Prime buy-low candidate if injury were to linger during the bye week
Rico Dowdle, RB, Panthers
Trade Value: 26.9
ROS Rank: 85
In Sunday's 40-9 loss to the Buffalo Bills, Rico Dowdle had his worst fantasy performance since Week 4, netting 5.4 fantasy points. He was scripted out of the mix and finished with 54 rushing yards on just eight carries and did not catch a pass for the first time this season. Dowdle outrushed Chuba Hubbard 54 to 34 on four fewer rushing attempts.
He was the most efficient runner for Carolina, averaging 6.8 yards per carry and recording a longest run of 24 yards, so he still has starting appeal when the Panthers can stay in a game. He should continue to split work nearly evenly with Hubbard, and there is a danger that Dowdle's production could be capped in another one-sided loss next week. Green Bay will come into Week 9 aiming for a fourth consecutive win.
In their past four games, the Packers have scored between 27 and 40 points, and Carolina likely cannot keep up with that scoring pace.
Verdict: Avoid in trades as Hubbard will continue to limit his upside
Jayden Daniels, QB, Commanders
Trade Value: 45.5
ROS Rank: 49
Washington Commanders head coach Dan Quinn said on Thursday that the team ruled out quarterback Jayden Daniels (hamstring) quickly for the Week 8 game on Monday night against the Kansas City Chiefs so that he could focus only on his rehab/treatment, according to ESPN's John Keim. "All of the week will be focused on rehab in hopes of [playing] the following week," Quinn said.
The hamstring injury that knocked Daniels out of the Week 7 loss to the Dallas Cowboys early on Sunday is not a long-term one, so the team is hoping he'll be able to make it back next weekend to face the Seattle Seahawks. Injuries have hampered Daniels in his sophomore season, as this week will be his third missed game of 2025.
If the 24-year-old only misses one game this time around -- he missed two contests earlier this year with a knee sprain -- he'll be returning to a tough matchup against Seattle in Week 9.
Verdict: Buy if you can before he returns from injury. Daniels will have high-end QB1 upside once he returns
Travis Etienne Jr., RB, Jaguars
Trade Value: 43.5
ROS Rank: 52
Following an excellent start to the 2025 season, Jacksonville Jaguars running back Travis Etienne Jr. has cooled off as the team heads into its Week 8 bye. The fifth-year back is the No. 16 overall PPR running back, but has now recorded fewer than 50 yards rushing and no touchdowns in three straight games for the Jags, who were thoroughly quieted by the Los Angeles Rams in a 35-7 loss last week.
Etienne drew only eight carries and one catch, his fewest number of touches in a game this season. The Jags traded Tank Bigsby to Philadelphia earlier this year, and rookie Bhayshul Tuten has yet to play more than a third of the team's snaps in a game, so Etienne is still the clear top option, but managers should continue to watch his usage in the weeks to come.
Jacksonville travels to Las Vegas in Week 9.
Verdict: Look to sell for a similar-priced RB2
Fantasy Football Trade Rankings Values
The higher the Trade Value number, the higher the priority for targeting in trades. Find your players, add up the trade values of each side of the offer, and see which side of the trade wins.
Who Should I Trade For?
Week 9 Trade Decisions. Today's focus is on specific players - Travis Etienne Jr., Stefon Diggs, Jayden Daniels, Tee Higgins, Derrick Henry, Rico Dowdle, Quinshon Judkins. These are some key fantasy football names heading into this week's matchups.
Using The Trade Values. This is a simple trade value tool, but very powerful. In our fantasy football trade value rankings above, you will see the Trade Value for each player. The higher the number, the higher the priority for targeting in trades. Players with a high trade value number are players that you should be targeting more in trades.
How It Works. Each week, our RotoBaller staff puts together their weekly fantasy football rankings, projections, and trade values based on their research. That information is the core data that is powering the decision-making in this trade value rankings.
How To Calculate Trades. Fantasy football managers will make 1-for-1 trades, or 2-for-3 trades, or 3-for-2 trades, or many other combinations. For each side of the deal, add the trade values together. Whichever side has a higher total number wins the trade. For example, if someone is offering you three players, add the trade values of those three players together. Does the value of those three players exceed the values of the player(s) you are trading away? If so then it's a good deal for you.
