Fantasy Football Trade Outlooks

Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider trading for or trading away heading into Week 8:

Woody Marks, RB, Texans
Trade Value: 30.7
ROS Rank: 75

Houston Texans running back Woody Marks led the backfield in carries on Monday Night Football, and even though he wasn't very efficient, he saved his fantasy day with a late touchdown as a receiver. Marks played 61% of snaps and had 10 of the team's 15 running back carries against the Seahawks. He only had 15 rushing yards on those 10 carries, though, while quarterback C.J. Stroud led the team with 25 rushing yards on his two carries.

Marks found the end zone on one of his three catches on five targets for 20 receiving yards. While his rushing total is disappointing, his workload is a positive sign moving forward that the fourth-round pick from USC maintains his role in a timeshare. Nick Chubb will still get early down work, but Marks seems to be the go-to option on passing downs and brings nice RB2 upside as a result. The Texans are home next week against the 49ers.

Verdict: Buy low if the price is reasonable

Jayden Daniels, QB, Commanders
Trade Value: 54.2
ROS Rank: 36

Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels' hamstring injury that he suffered in the Week 7 loss to the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday is "not significant or long-term," but head coach Dan Quinn is unsure if he'll be able to play on Monday night in Week 8 against the Kansas City Chiefs, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network. Washington apparently got good results from Daniels' MRI exam on Monday, but it doesn't mean he won't have to miss next Monday night's game.

If he isn't cleared for that contest, veteran backup Marcus Mariota would be in line to start, and he could be without receivers Terry McLaurin (quadriceps) and Deebo Samuel Sr. (heel), who both were out for Week 7. And if Daniels can gain clearance to play in Week 8, it sets up as a bad matchup against an ascending Chiefs team, especially if he's not 100%.

Verdict: Top buy-low option at the QB position

Jake Ferguson, TE, Cowboys
Trade Value: 35.2
ROS Rank: 65

Dallas Cowboys tight end Jake Ferguson has quickly become one of quarterback Dak Prescott's favorite targets in the passing game, and it didn't hurt that he wore his QB's high-school jersey to the stadium as a show of good faith. In the 44-22 blowout victory over the Washington Commanders in Week 7 on Sunday, Ferguson caught all seven of his targets for only 29 yards, but he found the end zone twice to bring his season total to six.

In a high-volume Cowboys passing offense, the 26-year-old has developed some nice chemistry with Prescott this year. Ferguson has exactly seven receptions in three of the last four weeks, and all six of his touchdowns on the season have come in the last four games. His ceiling will likely be lowered now that top wideout CeeDee Lamb has returned from a high-ankle sprain.

Still, Ferguson's red-zone prowess should continue, making him a weekly TE1 for fantasy managers in what has been a high-scoring offense.

Verdict: Buy-high if you need a TE

Puka Nacua, WR, Los Angeles Rams
Trade Value: 87.9
ROS Rank: 6

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua (ankle) has been ruled out for his team's Week 7 matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars due to an ankle injury. However, head coach Sean McVay said he is "very optimistic about hopefully having (Nacua) back" following the Rams' Week 8 bye. Los Angeles will host the New Orleans Saints in Week 9.

Nacua has been dominant through the first six weeks of the season, recording 54 catches for 616 yards and two touchdowns on 65 targets. In his absence against Jacksonville, the Rams will likely rely on Davante Adams, Jordan Whittington, and Tutu Atwell (hamstring) to fill the void at wide receiver. Once Nacua returns, he should once again provide must-start fantasy production.

Verdict: Buy for a fair price if you still can

Who Should I Trade For?

Week 8 Trade Decisions. Today's focus is on specific players - Emeka Egbuka, Jake Ferguson, Woody Marks, Puka Nacua, Jayden Daniels, RJ Harvey, Isiah Pacheco, DK Metcalf. These are some key fantasy football names heading into this week's matchups.

Using The Trade Values. This is a simple trade value tool, but very powerful. In our fantasy football trade value rankings above, you will see the Trade Value for each player. The higher the number, the higher the priority for targeting in trades. Players with a high trade value number are players that you should be targeting more in trades.

How It Works. Each week, our RotoBaller staff puts together their weekly fantasy football rankings, projections, and trade values based on their research. That information is the core data that is powering the decision-making in this trade value rankings.

How To Calculate Trades. Fantasy football managers will make 1-for-1 trades, or 2-for-3 trades, or 3-for-2 trades, or many other combinations. For each side of the deal, add the trade values together. Whichever side has a higher total number wins the trade. For example, if someone is offering you three players, add the trade values of those three players together. Does the value of those three players exceed the values of the player(s) you are trading away? If so then it's a good deal for you.
