Fantasy Football Trade Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider trading for or trading away heading into Week 8:
Chris Godwin, WR, Buccaneers
Trade Value: 19.1
ROS Rank: 109
Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles said on Wednesday that wide receiver Chris Godwin (leg) will not be back this Sunday to take on the division-rival New Orleans Saints in Week 8, according to FOX Sports' Greg Auman. Godwin got a late start to the 2025 campaign while recovering from a season-ending dislocated ankle that he suffered in Week 7 of last year, and then suffered a fibula injury that will now keep him out for a third straight game.
In addition to Godwin's injury, Tampa lost future Hall of Fame wideout Mike Evans (collarbone) for most of the rest of the season when he fractured his clavicle in Monday night's loss to the Lions. Fantasy managers who have been stashing Godwin will be keeping their fingers crossed that he'll be able to return after next week's bye to take on the New England Patriots in Week 10.
With Evans now potentially out the rest of the year, Godwin figures to be heavily involved in the passing attack next to rookie first-rounder Emeka Egbuka whenever he returns.
Verdict: Buy-low if you can as a bench stash
Jaylen Warren, RB, Steelers
Trade Value: 33.7
ROS Rank: 68
Pittsburgh Steelers running back Jaylen Warren rushed for 127 yards on 16 carries during Thursday's Week 7 loss against the Cincinnati Bengals. He also caught four of his five targets for an additional 31 receiving yards. Although Warren wasn't able to find the end zone on Thursday night, he still had a terrific performance with 7.94 yards per carry and a significant impact in the passing game.
His efficiency likely peaked thanks to his matchup against a Bengals defensive line sans Trey Hendrickson (hip), but he still has a favorable fantasy outlook heading into Week 8 against the Green Bay Packers. He continues to rank as a steady RB2 option in fantasy football.
Verdict: Buy if you can at a reasonable price and need a RB
Jaylen Waddle, WR, Dolphins
Trade Value: 61.8
ROS Rank: 27
ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports that the Miami Dolphins are getting calls on wide receiver Jaylen Waddle, but don't "have plans to trade him at this point." With Tyreek Hill (knee) out for the season with a torn ACL, Waddle is a "building block who can translate to any offense."
He is due $36 million over 2025-26, which represents a reasonable price for a player of his caliber at his position. ESPN's Dan Graziano writes that Waddle's contract makes him a bit difficult to trade, so the odds are that he'll stay put in Miami this season as their top wideout without Hill in the fold.
Miami's offense went off the rails in Week 7 against a tough Cleveland Browns defense, and Waddle had only one catch for 15 yards on four targets. However, the two weeks prior, he went off for 12 catches (17 targets) for 205 yards and a touchdown as quarterback Tua Tagovailoa's top target. Waddle will remain a volume-based WR2/3 in fantasy if he sticks with the Dolphins through this year's trade deadline.
Verdict: Avoid in trades, sell-high if possible
Courtland Sutton, WR, Broncos
Trade Value: 53.9
ROS Rank: 36
Denver Broncos wide receiver Courtland Sutton led the team in receiving yards with 87 as the team stunned the New York Giants in an astonishing fourth quarter comeback in Sunday's 33-32 win. He caught six passes for 87 yards in Sunday's victory. Sutton flashed some great chemistry with quarterback Bo Nix as they connected for a few big plays in the Sunday afternoon window with receptions for 22 yards, 32 yards, and a key two-point conversion after the Broncos scored their first touchdown.
Just before that two-point conversion on that touchdown play, Sutton was the primary target, only to have the ball ricochet off the defender's hands into Troy Franklin's for the touchdown. Sutton and Franklin would end up tied for targets on the day, but Sutton significantly outproduced him on Sunday. In what could be a shootout versus Dallas next week, Sutton should continue to be a confidence builder for lineups.
Verdict: Buy if you can at a reasonable price
Fantasy Football Trade Rankings Values
The higher the Trade Value number, the higher the priority for targeting in trades. Find your players, add up the trade values of each side of the offer, and see which side of the trade wins.
Who Should I Trade For?
Week 8 Trade Decisions. Today's focus is on specific players - Chris Godwin, Jaylen Warren, Ashton Jeanty, Jaylen Waddle, Courtland Sutton, Xavier Worthy, Tony Pollard. These are some key fantasy football names heading into this week's matchups.
Using The Trade Values. This is a simple trade value tool, but very powerful. In our fantasy football trade value rankings above, you will see the Trade Value for each player. The higher the number, the higher the priority for targeting in trades. Players with a high trade value number are players that you should be targeting more in trades.
How It Works. Each week, our RotoBaller staff puts together their weekly fantasy football rankings, projections, and trade values based on their research. That information is the core data that is powering the decision-making in this trade value rankings.
How To Calculate Trades. Fantasy football managers will make 1-for-1 trades, or 2-for-3 trades, or 3-for-2 trades, or many other combinations. For each side of the deal, add the trade values together. Whichever side has a higher total number wins the trade. For example, if someone is offering you three players, add the trade values of those three players together. Does the value of those three players exceed the values of the player(s) you are trading away? If so then it's a good deal for you.
