Fantasy Football Matchup Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 2:
Chuba Hubbard, RB, Carolina Panthers
Carolina Panthers running back Chuba Hubbard caught the team's lone touchdown in a 23-10 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. With just under five minutes left in the game, quarterback Bryce Young hit Hubbard in the flat, and after evading a shoestring tackle, he was able to race up the sideline unchallenged for the 27-yard score.
Hubbard had an otherwise unremarkable game, logging 16 carries for 57 rushing yards and turning five targets into three receptions for 32 yards and the trip to the end zone. The one positive is Hubbard's dominance of the Panthers' backfield duties. Rico Dowdle saw only three carries, and Hubbard outsnapped his new understudy at a 2-to-1 clip.
Chuba Hubbard and the Carolina Panthers will take to the road to face the Arizona Cardinals in Week 2.
Drake London, WR, Atlanta Falcons
Wide receivers Drake London (shoulder) and Darnell Mooney (shoulder) both practiced on Wednesday (limited). Mooney missed Week 1 with a shoulder injury he suffered in training camp, while London suffered a shoulder sprain in the fourth quarter of the team's loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday.
Both players will likely be limited practice participants early in the week, but it's still a positive sign that both will be on the field on Wednesday. The Falcons have a tough matchup in Week 2 as they travel to Minnesota to play the Vikings on Sunday night.
Assuming both receivers can play, London is a must-start fantasy wide receiver, while Mooney profiles as a low-end WR4/flex option. UPDATE: Head coach Raheem Morris said he expects London to play in Week 2.
Trey Benson, RB, Arizona Cardinals
Nico Collins, WR, Houston Texans
The Houston Texans played badly on Sunday against the Los Angeles Rams. This started with C.J. Stroud and Nick Chubb before finishing with Nico Collins. The only person to make any form of headway in this game was Rams WR 1 Puka Nacua, who finished with 10 receptions and 130 yards on 11 targets.
Collins, on the other hand, was unable to do anything as Stroud continued to struggle, much like the way he did in his sophomore season of 2024. While this is becoming a bit concerning, it will be important to see how Houston's offense bounces back on Monday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 2.
If C.J. Stroud continues his struggles, Nico Collins will see the largest dip in production for the Texans. Houston will be forced to utilize the running game more and the short pass to the tight end. If this happens, Collins will disappoint the managers who took him as their first-round selection.
