Fantasy Football Matchup Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 17:
Michael Carter, RB, Arizona Cardinals
The Bengals' defense has struggled to stop running backs on the ground and in the air this year. They have allowed the most fantasy points to running backs and have given up 25.9 fantasy points per game this season, according to Pro-Football-Reference. Carter is an RB2 with upside that can be fired up as a flex option in fantasy championships in Week 17.
Parker Washington, WR, Jacksonville Jaguars
Although it's unlikely he repeats this type of production in Week 17, he remains a decent option for Lawrence, and his 10 targets from Week 16 shouldn't be overlooked. The Jaguars take on the Indianapolis Colts in Week 17, who just got carved up against the San Fransico 49ers on Monday Night Football, and the Jaguars' offense should have one of the higher implied team totals on the week, making all of Brian Thomas Jr., Jakobi Meyers, and Washington fantasy value. For teams with three wide receiver slots or multiple flex spots, Washington should be in consideration.
Kenneth Gainwell, RB, Pittsburgh Steelers
Assuming Gainwell plays, however, he is set up for success against a Cleveland defense that has surrendered the second-most fantasy points to opposing backs over the past eight weeks. With DK Metcalf suspended, Gainwell's involvement as a pass-catcher could increase. That said, fantasy managers can continue to rely on Gainwell as an RB2 or flex option if he is expected to play a full allotment of snaps.
Blake Corum, RB, Los Angeles Rams
Despite splitting work, both running backs have remained fantasy viable. With the offense consistently playing in the red zone, both backs have been able to score touchdowns and produce for fantasy managers. Corum has built a solid resume that managers can depend on and can be trusted as a flex option during fantasy championships.
Alec Pierce, WR, Indianapolis Colts
If Rivers won't be pigeonholed into a short, quick attack, then Pierce will still hold a bit of value down the stretch. Fantasy managers shouldn't expect a ton of volume from the former Cincinnati Bearcat, but he'll at least still be the recipient of valuable downfield targets. Pierce has led all Colts' receivers in snaps in eight of their last nine outings.
