Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 14:
Devin Neal, RB, Saints
New Orleans Saints rookie running back Devin Neal made the first start of his NFL career in Sunday's 21-17 loss to the hosting Miami Dolphins in Week 13. Neal handled a team-high 14 carries for 47 yards (3.4 yards per tote) while also adding three catches on three targets for an additional 22 yards through the air. The 22-year-old got the opportunity after veteran Alvin Kamara (knee) suffered an MCL sprain in last week's loss to the Atlanta Falcons.
Neal played a season-high 82% of the offensive snaps, with Evan Hull seeing five rushing attempts as his backup. Although his production wasn't exactly head-turning on Sunday, Neal deserves more attention on the waiver wire this week (he's rostered in 57% of Yahoo leagues) since there's a good chance Kamara will miss more time. Neal will be at least an RB3/flex in fantasy in Week 14 against the division-rival Tampa Bay Buccaneers if Kamara is out again.
Harrold Fannin Jr., TE, Browns
Across 12 games this season, Cleveland Browns rookie tight end Harold Fannin Jr. has recorded 51 catches for 505 yards and three touchdowns on 74 targets. While the 21-year-old's numbers do not jump off the page, he's emerged as a consistent piece of the Browns' offense. Entering Week 14, Fannin Jr. has earned at least five targets in seven consecutive games and 10 out of 12 total games this season. Fannin Jr. has also earned 11 targets across the two contests since Shedeur Sanders took over the starting quarterback job in Cleveland, the highest number of any Browns pass-catcher.
The overall struggles of his team's offense limit Fannin Jr.'s upside. Still, he provides a solid production floor as a low-end starting tight end option in PPR fantasy leagues. Heading into his Week 14 matchup against the Tennessee Titans, Fannin Jr. should be a waiver-wire target in PPR leagues with 12 or more teams.
Jayden Higgins, WR, Texans
Houston Texans rookie wide receiver Jayden Higgins is deserving of more attention off the waiver wire as he cements himself as the team's WR2 behind Nico Collins for the final stretch of the season. In the 20-16 win over the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, Higgins caught all five of his targets for 65 yards, which was second behind only Collins.
It was another solid showing for the 22-year-old pass-catcher out of Iowa State after he had four catches on a season-high nine targets for 38 yards and his fourth touchdown of the year in last week's win over the Buffalo Bills on Thursday night. It was nice to see Higgins show plenty of chemistry in quarterback C.J. Stroud's first game back from a three-game absence due to a concussion.
He now has 32 receptions for 359 yards and four TDs in his first 12 games, and Higgins should be viewed as an ascending WR4/flex option for fantasy managers going into a Week 14 showdown against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday Night Football.
Luther Burden III, WR, Bears
Chicago Bears wide receiver Luther Burden III has at least three catches in four straight games and has at least five targets in each of his last three. He led the team with four catches in their Black Friday win over the Eagles on a windy day in Philadelphia. While his yardage totals have been mediocre, the second-round rookie from Missouri is getting enough looks to eventually show off his big-play potential.
Burden is clearly operating as the team's third receiver behind Rome Odunze and DJ Moore, playing over 50% of snaps the last two weeks ahead of Olamide Zaccheaus. Burden will remain a risky flex play against Green Bay in Week 14 with so many other options in the offense, but if you are looking for receiver depth, he's one of the top widely available options.
Kyle Monangai, RB, Bears
Chicago Bears rookie running back Kyle Monangai delivered a statement performance in his team's massive Week 13 win over the Philadelphia Eagles, recording 130 rushing yards and a touchdown on 22 carries. Monangai has been stealing touches away from veteran Bears back D'Andre Swift for multiple weeks, but Week 13 may signal a more permanent shift in the Chicago backfield.
Monangai has now earned more carries than Swift in back-to-back weeks, although it's worth noting that Swift also dominated against Philadelphia with 125 rushing yards and a touchdown on 18 attempts. Monangai's ceiling is limited by his lack of receiving work, as he's failed to record a catch in three out of his last four games. Still, the rookie is averaging 4.9 yards per carry this season and appears to be emerging as the lead rusher in an increasingly impressive Chicago offense.
Monangai is a must-add player off the waiver wire in fantasy leagues where he remains available heading into a Week 14 showdown against the Green Bay Packers.
