Fantasy Football Matchup Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 12:
Tony Pollard, RB, Tennessee Titans
Tennessee Titans running back Tony Pollard had 10 carries for 22 yards in Sunday's 16-13 loss to the Houston Texans in Week 11. Pollard also had three catches for four yards on three targets. The 28-year-old veteran scored a season low of 5.6 fantasy points and was out-snapped for the third time this season by backfield mate Tyjae Spears.
Since Week 6, Pollard has only been able to eclipse over eight fantasy points once. The former explosive fantasy favorite has become a low-upside, touchdown-dependent flex option for managers.
Pollard has been unable to find paydirt for a fifth straight week and has only been able to find the end zone twice this year. Heading into Week 12, Pollard will be a desperation flex option in deeper leagues in a difficult matchup against the Seattle Seahawks.
A.J. Brown, WR, Philadelphia Eagles
During a 10-minute meeting with Philadelphia Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie, wide receiver A.J. Brown vowed that he'll stop complaining about the offense on social media, according to Sal Paolantonio of ESPN. Brown's meeting with Lurie was described as "highly unusual" and occurred during Thursday's practice after security chief Dom DiSandro ushered him to the owner.
Brown has made his displeasure known this season, most recently complaining about the state of the Eagles' offense during a live stream on Twitch. While Brown vowed to stop complaining publicly, Lurie told him that he didn't need to apologize for his actions. The receiver explained that he "just wants to be a part of the offense and is frustrated," and the two hugged as the meeting ended.
The 28-year-old has been underwhelming with 31 catches, 408 yards, and three touchdowns this season, but his frustration has stopped short of a trade request. In fact, he remains under contract through 2029, though it's possible that Philadelphia could bring his name up in trade talks next offseason.
Nico Collins, WR, Houston Texans
Houston Texans wide receiver Nico Collins (ankle) should be ready to play on Thursday against the Buffalo Bills after he was listed as a full practice participant on Tuesday. Collins opened the week on Monday, listed as limited on the estimated report with a new ankle injury, but it doesn't appear to be serious enough to slow him down going into Week 12 despite the quick turnaround.
Even though starting quarterback C.J. Stroud (concussion) will miss his third straight game this week, fantasy managers should not hesitate to start the 26-year-old pass-catcher against Buffalo. Collins has been a top-10 fantasy wideout in terms of half-PPR points per game (12.6) through 11 weeks of the season as Houston's clear WR1.
It's worth noting that Nico Collins has actually been better the last two weeks with Davis Mills running the offense, catching 16 of 25 targets for 228 yards and one touchdown.
Jerry Jeudy, WR, Cleveland Browns
Cleveland Browns wide receiver Jerry Jeudy caught just three of his seven targets for 21 yards in a 23-16 loss to the Baltimore Ravens in Week 11. Jeudy turned in his best performance of the season back in Week 10, catching six of his 12 targets for 78 yards and a touchdown, but was unable to stay hot against the Ravens, despite what appeared to be a plus matchup for receivers on paper.
Jeudy is turning in a disappointing season as the Browns' No. 1 receiver and has been borderline unusable in fantasy most weeks. He will look to break out in Week 12's road matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Devin Singletary, RB, New York Giants
New York Giants running back Devin Singletary scored his first two rushing touchdowns of the season in his team's Week 11 loss to the Green Bay Packers, finishing the game with 16 carries for 44 yards and two scores.
With Giants running back Cam Skattebo (ankle) lost for the season with an ankle injury, Singletary has now recorded double-digit touches in three straight games. The 28-year-old appears to be in a timeshare with Tyrone Tracy Jr. in the New York backfield, as Tracy Jr. recorded 23 touches against Green Bay.
Tracy Jr.'s presence limits Singletary's upside, particularly as a pass-catcher. However, the veteran Singletary could be the preferred option at the goal line. Heading into a Week 12 matchup against the Detroit Lions, Singletary could be a flex option for fantasy managers to consider off the waiver wire.
