Who Should I Start for Fantasy Football Week 16? Breece Hall, Tony Pollard, Tyrone Tracy Jr.

Breece Hall - Fantasy Football Rankings, NFL Injury News, DFS Lineup Picks

Who should I start for Week 16? Fantasy football outlooks for Breece Hall, Tony Pollard, Tyrone Tracy Jr.. Our expert fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks.

It's hard to find consistently good running backs in fantasy football. Each year, there are only a few that have zero games with less than double-digit PPR fantasy points. This year, there are none, though, since Baltimore Ravens running back Derrick Henry finally logged his first game of just single-digit scoring.

So it's always worth looking into matchups, recent injury data, and usage trends for RBs that aren't elite must-starts like King Henry. Three RBs comfortably at least a tier below him are New York Jets running back Breece Hall, Tennessee Titans running back Tony Pollard (ankle), and New York Giants running back Tyrone Tracy Jr. (ankle).

We'll dig into some data and give recommendations about these three dudes below.

Should I Start Breece Hall for Fantasy Football?

Hall appears to have recovered from his knee injury, at least enough to be removed from the injury report. He didn't see much work last week, though. A late rush score saved his fantasy day, and he ended up with 13.1 PPR fantasy points, but on just 48% of offensive snaps, which led to nine carries for 30 yards and two catches for 21 yards.

The matchup against the Los Angeles Rams isn't a great one. LA's offense is elite, and when the Jets are down, quarterback Aaron Rodgers tries to play like he's still 25 and throws the ball down the field regardless of whether Hall is wide open for a first down. That works against teams with bad pass defenses and bad pass-rushes.

But the Rams have been good at getting pressure, especially against weak offensive lines, as we saw in Week 15. Hall checks in as an RB3/FLEX for this game. His ceiling is impacted by Rodgers being bad, poor OL play, lack of targets, and possibly restricted snaps. We'd recommend starting him, but manage your expectations.

Should I Start Tony Pollard for Fantasy Football?

Pollard didn't practice Wednesday or Thursday, but we're accustomed to seeing this. He doesn't seem to be in danger of missing Week 16, so we'll assume he plays. And he'll have a nice matchup against the Indianapolis Colts, who have a bad defense vs. RBs fantasy-wise.

But he re-injured his ankle in Week 15, so that's a concern. Strangely enough, Titans head coach Brian Callahan has insisted time and time again that he'll use backup RB Tyjae Spears more, but in close games, Pollard has been the workhorse. Spears got much more work last week, but TEN was down by multiple scores for much of that game.

TP's practice status on Friday becomes very important. If it's a DNP, fantasy managers should be worried. He becomes a risky RB3/FLEX due to the ailment, but should still be started in most leagues.

Should I Start Tyrone Tracy Jr. for Fantasy Football?

He's dealing with an ankle injury as well but logged limited practices on both Wednesday and Thursday. It's easier to imagine that he plays without restrictions. He gets a nice matchup with the Atlanta Falcons, who allow a ton of receptions to the opposing team's running backs this season.

Tracy has impressed in his rookie season, but the team's offense has been mostly a disaster. Still, quarterback Drew Lock (heel, elbow) was removed from the injury report, and he threw the ball the rookie back's way 10 times in Week 14. It seems like that will continue.

We like him as a low-end RB2 this week. He should be started.
