Tucker Kraft, TE, Packers
The Green Bay Packers fear that tight end Tucker Kraft (knee) tore his ACL during Sunday's Week 9 loss against the Carolina Panthers, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
If tests confirm this diagnosis, Kraft will be done for the season. This is a brutal loss for the Packers, as Kraft was off to a spectacular start this season with 32 catches, 489 yards, and six touchdowns through eight games. He had been the overall TE2 in fantasy football so far.
With Kraft likely shut down for the rest of the season, Luke Musgrave will take over as the Packers' starting tight end next week against the Philadelphia Eagles
Jayden Daniels, QB, Commanders
John Keim of ESPN reported that the Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels (elbow) suffered a dislocated left elbow during the fourth quarter of Sunday night's 38-14 loss to the Seattle Seahawks, sources told ESPN. He is scheduled to undergo an MRI on Monday to confirm the diagnosis and help determine a recovery timeline.
Daniels is expected to be sidelined indefinitely, but it is uncertain whether his season is over, according to sources. This is a gut-wrenching injury for the Commanders and Daniels fantasy owners, as the injury occurred late in the game of a 38-7 blowout. Marcus Mariota will return under center for the Commanders, limiting the offense's upside for players like Terry McLaurin (quadriceps) and Deebo Samuel Sr.
Mariota can be trusted as a QB2 for those in two-QB or superflex leagues due to his rushing upside. Fantasy managers will want to continue to keep tabs on Daniels' recovery timeline as more news is reported.
Matthew Golden, WR, Green Bay Packers
Green Bay Packers wide receiver Matthew Golden (shoulder) has been ruled out for the remainder of Sunday's Week 9 contest against the Carolina Panthers. The rookie exited in the third quarter and was initially listed as questionable before being downgraded to out.
Golden finishes the game with just two catches for nine yards. Green Bay entered this week without Dontayvion Wicks (calf) and lost both Golden and Tucker Kraft (knee) mid-game, leaving the Packers short-staffed as they try to mount a comeback against the Panthers.
Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs, and Luke Musgrave will lead the receiving corps while Savion Williams and Malik Heath take on bigger depth roles. Golden will now have eight days to get healthy before the Packers' Week 10 contest against the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football.
Jacory Croskey-Merritt, RB, Commanders
Washington Commanders running back Jacory Croskey-Merritt had just 3.2 yards per carry and caught just one short pass in the Commanders' primetime loss to the Seahawks.
The hyped-up rookie continues to disappoint and remains in a running back committee. In Week 9, he was out-produced by Chris Rodriguez Jr. on Sunday night and is merely a low-end RB3 for Week 10 against Detroit.
Now ranked outside of the top 40 running backs in PPR scoring formats, there is absolutely no reason to continue rostering JCM in 10-12 team leagues; he can safely be dropped for a better option heading into Week 10.
C.J. Stroud, QB, Houston Texans
He finishes Sunday's game having completed six of 10 pass attempts for 79 passing yards, zero touchdowns, and zero interceptions. He also picked up 12 rushing yards. Davis Mills entered in his place and will remain the Texans' quarterback for the rest of Week 9.
The Stanford product could also earn the start next week against the Jacksonville Jaguars if Stroud isn't able to clear concussion protocol within the next seven days.
