Joe Boyle Prospect Update for Fantasy Baseball
In his most recent outing at Triple-A Durham, the right-hander struck out eight batters across five innings of two-run ball (one earned). Since June 1 (six starts), Boyle has struck out at least seven batters in each outing and tallied a cumulative 49 strikeouts over these 30 innings.
Through 73 total innings with Durham, Boyle has posted a stellar 1.85 ERA, 0.99 WHIP, and a 96:31 K:BB. He received one spot-start for Tampa Bay in April and struck out seven batters across five no-hit frames.

Joe Boyle Outlook for Fantasy Baseball
While Boyle has been one of the most dominant pitchers at Triple-A this season and appears to have turned the corner, Tampa Bay does not have an opening for him. Currently, Taj Bradley holds down the No. 5 spot in the rotation and, despite his inconsistencies, does not appear in any danger of losing his spot.
Last summer, Boyle posted a high 6.42 ERA across 47 2/3 innings with the Athletics but is poised to take a significant step forward during his next stint in the major leagues.
Given his elite production, he remains a solid stash option in deeper 12+ team leagues going forward. On Sunday morning, the Rays announced that Boyle is set to return to the major league roster. However, he may not be guaranteed a spot in the rotation. As a result, he is worth adding in all 12+ team leagues.
