Week 4 Kicker Streamers and Starts - 2018 Fantasy Tiers, Rankings

Week 4 ranks, tiers and start/sit advice for fantasy football kickers. Gage Bridgford (@GBridgfordNFL) lists his weekly K rankings and players to avoid based on matchup, weather, and team context.

Week 3 is over, and it was full of upsets. With those upsets, came several surprising kicker performances. Players like Ryan Succop and Stephen Hauschka were among the week's top scorers. Fantasy football is unpredictable, and that is ever true for the ranks of kickers.

Week 4 has some matchups that aren't so fantasy friendly for offenses, but they can allow kickers to have more opportunities. Matt Prater and the Detroit Lions won handily over the New England Patriots, but they only scored two touchdowns, while Prater did the heavy lifting.

This week could have several low scoring games, but the kickers should stay busy. Week 3 had upsets and high scores, and this week should stay similar in the upsets department. Kickers could put up major numbers this week, so make sure you pay attention to who you slot in your lineups this week.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

Week 4 Kickers To Start & Stream: Tiers & Rankings

Tier 1 NFL Kickers

1. Caleb Sturgis (LAC) vs SF
2. Matt Prater (DET) @ DAL
3. Stephen Gostkowski (NE) vs MIA
4. Sam Ficken (LAR) vs MIN
5. Adam Vinatieri (IND) vs HOU

With a better offensive matchup and Jimmy Garoppolo out for the year, Los Angeles Chargers kicker Caleb Sturgis claims the top spot this week, as the Chargers figure to score a lot of points this week. Prater had an excellent week against the Patriots, and he should continue that against a soft Dallas Cowboys defense in week four.

The Patriots do great coming off of a loss, and that means bad news for the Miami Dolphins. The Dolphins have had a relatively easy schedule so far, but that changes this week, which means good things for Gostkowski. Sam Ficken took over for Greg Zuerlein with the Los Angeles Rams and he played well. This week they will have to score a lot with their defense noticeably weaker. Adam Vinatieri and the Indianapolis Colts have some stuff to work on, but he continues to be as good as ever this week.

Tier 2 NFL Kickers

6. Josh Lambo (JAX) vs NYJ
7. Jake Elliot (PHI) @ TEN
8. Harrison Butker (KC) @ DEN
9. Wil Lutz (NO) vs NYG
10. Dan Bailey (MIN) @ LAR

Josh Lambo and the Jacksonville Jaguars had a rough Week 3, but they should bounce back against the New York Jets in Week 4. Jake Elliot and the Philadelphia Eagles will be looking to build on last week's return of Carson Wentz against a lowly Tennessee Titans team. Their offense was elite last season, and they should build on that moving forward.

The Kansas City Chiefs' offense has been one of the best in football so far. While they draw the Denver Broncos defense this week, they should keep Butker active. Lutz and the New Orleans Saints lit the scoreboard up last week, and they should keep going this week. Bailey and the Minnesota Vikings stumbled last week, but they

Tier 3 NFL Kickers

11. Mason Crosby (GB) vs BUF
12. Stephen Hauschka (BUF) @ GB
13. Matt Bryant (ATL) vs CIN
14. Randy Bullock (CIN) @ ATL
15. Aldrick Rosas (NYG) @ NO

After a beatdown at the hands of the Washington Redskins, the Green Bay Packers will be looking to bounce back against the surprising Buffalo Bills. Mason Crosby has been a major weapon for them all season. Hauschka and the Bills surprised everyone last week against the Vikings, and he will have to keep busy against a struggling Packers defense. Matt Bryant is one of the most consistent kickers in the league, and an elite Atlanta Falcons offense will keep him active this week.

Bullock and the Cincinnati Bengals have looked scary good on offense this season at times, and they get a matchup against an Atlanta Falcons defense that just gave up 43 points to the Saints. The Saints defense has looked far from the elite unit that they were last year, and that puts New York Giants' kicker Aldrick Rosas in line for a bump in points this week.

Kickers to Avoid

Chandler Catanzaro and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers came down to Earth in Week 3 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. In Week 4, they draw the Chicago Bears defense that has quickly pushed their way up, and they should reduce Catanzaro's opportunities this week, which kills his value in Week 4.

Jason Myers and the New York Jets have steadily regressed after their explosion in Week 1. They draw the Jaguars this week. The Jags will be looking to make a statement this week that they are a legitimate title contender, so Myers might not see much playing time this week.

Robbie Gould and the San Francisco 49ers were dealt a huge blow Monday when quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo was announced that he was out for the rest of the season. Against a good Chargers defense, it's going to be tough for them to move the ball as they look to establish a new identity.
