Top Fantasy Football Injuries From Sunday's Games: Chris Olave, Drake London, Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, More

AJ Brown - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, NFL Injury News

Dave Ventresca chronicles the top Injuries from Week 9 fantasy football for QB, RB, WR, and TE as of 11/4 including Chris Olave, Drake London, Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, and more.

The Week 9 injury report was pretty light compared to the rest of the season. Even still, some big names went down, and they will definitely affect fantasy rosters everywhere.

We saw several wide receivers leave games early and had another injury to a starting quarterback. Let’s get into the injury report from yesterday's games as well as the potential fantasy football implications.

Make sure you follow RotoBaller on X and check out RotoBaller.com for all your fantasy football needs. Let’s dive into all the major injuries from Week 9.

Chris Olave - WR, New Orleans Saints

Olave suffered a scary-looking injury in Sunday’s loss to the Carolina Panthers.

He was taken off the field on a stretcher and admitted to a local hospital for further evaluation. Fortunately, Olave has movement in all his extremities, was discharged from the hospital, and looks to have avoided a serious injury. He was officially diagnosed with a concussion.

This is Olave’s second concussion of the season, and he may face an extended absence similar to what we saw from Tua Tagovailoa earlier this year. Olave almost certainly will not play in Week 10. Gamers should plan to be without him for the immediate future and possibly the rest of the year.

New Orleans is starting to get thin at receiver with Olave injured again. Mason Tipton and Cedric Wilson Jr. should see an uptick in targets with Olave sidelined. The biggest winner is probably Alvin Kamara, as it’s likely he’s even more involved in the passing game with the Saints lacking quality options at receiver.

Hopefully, Olave recovers quickly and this is the last we see of his concussion issues. This was a scary situation to watch, and we should all just be happy the young receiver is okay.

Drake London - WR, Atlanta Falcons

London suffered a hip injury on a touchdown catch in yesterday’s victory over the Dallas Cowboys.

He was later seen on the sidelines riding a stationary bike trying to loosen up his hip, but he was later ruled out for the game. Fortunately for his managers, he did score a touchdown so his fantasy day wasn’t a complete waste. It was still a tad disappointing as he seemed like he was headed for a big day.

Atlanta’s WR1 is in the middle of a breakout season, and fantasy managers will miss his presence. We will know more about his status later in the week, but the fact he couldn’t return to the game is a bad sign. Gamers would be wise to expect London to miss a game or two and should make plans in the interim.

Darnell Mooney and Kyle Pitts would be the biggest winners should London miss any time. Ray-Ray McCloud III could also be an option in deeper leagues.

Xavier Legette - WR, Carolina Panthers

Legette suffered an injury early in Sunday’s division clash against the New Orleans Saints.

He was taken to the locker room for further evaluation but later returned to the game. He should be fine moving forward. Legette had been on the streaming radar following Carolina’s trade of Diontae Johnson to the Baltimore Ravens. Veteran Adam Thielen is eligible to return from IR soon and could hurt Legette’s fantasy value. Thielen will likely serve as Carolina’s WR1 provided he is not moved before the NFL’s trade deadline.

Dak Prescott - QB, Dallas Cowboys

The Cowboys QB1 was having another subpar game against the Atlanta Falcons when he suffered a hamstring injury.

Prescott was quickly ruled out for the game, and that doesn’t bode well for his Week 10 status. He’s set to undergo an MRI later today. Dallas’ offense has been supremely disappointing this year and yesterday was no different. It looks like the Mike McCarthy experience has run its course.

Cooper Rush would take over at quarterback if Prescott faces an extended absence. He was serviceable a few years ago when Prescott was injured, but he’s still a downgrade for the Cowboys’ skill players. Rush can be left on waivers in single quarterback leagues, but he is worth an addition in super flex and two-quarterback leagues.

CeeDee Lamb - WR, Dallas Cowboys

It was a tough day for the Cowboys as both Prescott and Lamb suffered injuries.

Lamb did briefly return to the game, but he was in a lot of pain on the sidelines. He has been diagnosed with an AC Joint injury and is set to undergo an MRI later today. His status for next week could be in doubt depending on the severity. With 2024 looking like a lost season, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Dallas sit Lamb down for a game or two until he’s fully healthy.

Lamb’s fantasy outlook also potentially takes a hit with the possibility of Prescott missing time. Jake Ferguson and Jalen Tolbert would be Dallas’ top pass-catchers if their all-world receiver is sidelined.

Jaylen Waddle - WR, Miami Dolphins

Waddle briefly left yesterday’s loss to the Buffalo Bills after suffering an ankle injury.

Luckily, he was able to return and ended up catching a touchdown pass.

The fourth-year receiver should be fine moving. Gamers should still keep an eye on Miami’s practice reports just to ensure his injury doesn't get worse during the week.

A.J. Brown - WR, Philadelphia Eagles

Brown suffered a knee injury in yesterday’s victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars.

He went to the locker room at the start of the second half and never returned to the game. It’s been a frustrating season for Brown’s fantasy owners as he missed several weeks earlier in the year with a hamstring issue. We should know more regarding the severity of his most recent injury later today.

It’s probably wise for owners to expect Brown to miss some time. DeVonta Smith should see a bump in targets and tight end Dallas Goedert should also see plenty of looks when he returns from injury. Jahan Dotson could also emerge as a bye-week filler or matchup-dependent flex play/WR3 as he should see the field more in Brown’s absence.

Keon Coleman - WR, Buffalo Bills

Coleman only caught one pass for 21 yards yesterday, but he picked up a wrist injury after taking a hard hit late in the game.

He was spotted wearing a wrist brace after the game, and the severity of this injury is currently unknown. Coleman will likely undergo further imaging later today to determine the full extent of the injury. We should know more about this soon, but gamers will want to monitor Buffalo's practice reports to get a better gauge of his status for Week 10. Amari Cooper and Khalil Shakir would be the main beneficiaries if Coleman is indeed sidelined.

Caleb Williams - QB, Chicago Bears

Williams suffered an ankle injury late in Sunday's loss to the Arizona Cardinals.

Head coach Matt Eberflus said Williams was a little banged up after the game, but added that he should be fine moving forward. Williams will likely undergo testing to get a full diagnosis, but early indications are that he avoided a serious injury.

Williams and Chicago's offense have really struggled coming out of their Week 7 bye. The offensive line has been atrocious and Williams' play has suffered. It's nice to hear that he is okay, but Williams should be off the streaming radar until the Bears begin to fix their offensive line woes.
