Sincere McCormick, Ameer Abdullah, Alexander Mattison: Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em Picks for Fantasy Football Week 14

Alexander Mattison - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, Waiver Wire Pickups

Should I start Sincere McCormick, Ameer Abdullah, Alexander Mattison for Week 14? Fantasy football start em, sit em picks and recommendations for the 2024 NFL season.

The Las Vegas Raiders have a mess in their backfield right now. There are three running backs that many fantasy managers are considering rostering or starting in Week 14. That may not have been a surprise, considering that the lead back going into the season, Zamir White (quadricep), has played poorly.

But with current starter Alexander Mattison (ankle) possibly returning from injury, Ameer Abdullah (foot) having had two solid games, and Sincere McCormick looking like the best back on the field in Week 13, it's a confusing position group to navigate right now.

Which of these three players should be started this week?

Should I Start Sincere McCormick for Fantasy Football?

McCormick was the most efficient of the team's backs in Week 13, logging 12 carries for 64 yards and two catches for one yard. He looks like the most explosive back in this group, which speaks to the coaching staff's incompetency, as he was only recently signed to the active roster.

If Mattison can return, he'll get a slight downgrade. But it's possible the starter could be limited by his injury even if he does play. Either way, McCormick is a risky start. Las Vegas hasn't been a very good running team this year. By that, we mean the worst, tied with the Dallas Cowboys.

He's the best of the Raiders' options for desperation fill-ins due to bye weeks and injuries.

He's the RB51 in our half-PPR consensus staff rankings.

Should I Start Ameer Abdullah for Fantasy Football?

No. He has a foot injury and didn't practice on Thursday. There's a good chance he doesn't play at all, and the DNP doesn't inspire confidence that he'd be 100% or get a full workload even if he did play.

He was solid as a pass-catcher and returning kicks when he played at least.

He's the RB29 in our half-PPR consensus staff rankings.

Should I Start Alexander Mattison for Fantasy Football?

The injury should convince you to sit him. With Raiders head coach Alexander Mattison indicating that McCormick would get a bigger workload, we could see Mattison become the old Mattison after White became the new Mattison, and McCormick becoming the new Mattison (this is a reference to 2023 Mattison losing his job after preseason hype).

Due to injury, he doesn't have a rank this week in our rankings.
