New York Jets quarterback Mike White became a hot topic last season when he threw for over 400 yards and three touchdowns in a win over the Cincinnati Bengals, and it looks like White-season is back after a strong performance in Week 12 this year.
Many fantasy managers rejoiced when Zach Wilson was benched and White has become a fun guy to root for and rally around as football enthusiasts but is he a legitimate waiver wire target heading into Week 13?
Although most fantasy teams that are still in the playoff race have a solid quarterback, injuries happen, so depth is always important. Let's recap White's Week 12 and dive into his outlooking moving forward.

How Did Mike White Play in Week 12?
In the Jets' 31-10 over the Chicago Bears, White completed 22 of his 28 passing attempts for 315 yards and three touchdowns to zero interceptions for a 149.3 QB rating.
In his first start of the season, he revived the fantasy prospects of Garrett Wilson (five catches, 95 yards, two touchdowns) and Elijah Moore (two catches 64 yards, one touchdown). Ultimately, the offense looked as strong as it had since Joe Flacco was under center in the early part of the season and several Jets' players had solid fantasy weeks.
Should I Pickup Mike White in Fantasy Football?
As crazy as it might sound, White has the upside to be a high-end QB2 as long as he keeps the starting job in New York. In two-QB or superflex leagues, he's a clear must-add, but even in single-QB leagues, he warrants consideration as at least a backup.
Sure, White went off against one of the worst defenses in the NFL, but he draws matchups with the Detroit Lions, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Seattle Seahawks in the fantasy football playoffs (Week 15, 16, 17). Even fantasy managers with Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, or Jalen Hurts should have a plan B at quarterback should an unfortunate injury happen.
White might not be an elite stud, but the supporting cast of Wilson, Moore, Corey Davis, Tyler Conklin, and C.J. Uzomah sets him up for fantasy success, even if he just takes the easy throws. There's a ton of big-play firepower here, so expect him to be a top-flight streamer moving forward. There's always a risk he becomes a complete bust after last week, but it's time to take some risks and gamble for upside.
