Should I Pick Up Zonovan Knight for Fantasy Football Week 13? Waiver Wire Outlook

Zonovan Knight - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, Waiver Wire Pickups

Should I pickup Zonovan Knight for fantasy football Week 13? Is Zonovan Knight a good fantasy pick off the waiver wire? Read the fantasy football waivers outlook.

New York Jets rookie running back Zonovan Knight went undrafted in the 2022 NFL Draft. The 5-11, 210-pound power runner out of North Carolina State has been on the Jets’ practice squad all season long behind a slew of running backs awaiting his opportunity and was active for just the first time all season in Week 12.

Knight started at NC State all three seasons and departed from school early to head to the NFL. He was a productive runner in college, accounting for 2,286 yards and 18 touchdowns on the ground through three seasons.

After a strong showing in Week 12 against the Bears, what's his outlook going forward for fantasy football? Let's take a look.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

What Has Zonovan Knight Done So Far This Season?

In his NFL debut in Week 12, Knight accounted for 103 scrimmage yards. He carried the ball 14 times for 69 yards on the ground while adding three catches for 34 yards through the air.

Knight stepped up with lead running back Michael Carter suffering an ankle injury that is expected to keep him sidelined for an extended amount of time.

He looked electric on the ground, forcing a league-high nine missed tackles in Week 12.

Is Zonovan Knight the Starting Running Back for the New York Jets?

The New York Jets have endured a slew of injuries at the running back position this season, with second-round rookie Breece Hall suffering a torn ACL and backfield-mate Michael Carter suffering an ankle injury of his own.

After Hall’s injury, the Jets picked up former Jacksonville Jaguars running back James Robinson via trade. Robinson was a healthy scratch this past week, signifying the Jets’ trust in Knight.

Fourth-year running back Ty Johnson also mixed in, adding five carries for 62 yards and a score on the ground in relief of Carter.

The Jets’ backfield is full of question marks and could easily become a three-way committee the rest of the season between Knight, Robinson, and Johnson.

Knight has competition in the backfield even with Carter down but showed enough to warrant a role in the offense moving forward.

Should I Pick Up Zonovan Knight in Fantasy Football?

Zonovan Knight should be added in all formats this week following his record-breaking NFL debut.

“Bam” may face competition for touches from Robinson and Johnson, but the potential of him taking over the lion’s share of the backfield against Detroit, Jacksonville, and Seattle in the fantasy playoffs is too enticing to leave him for someone else to claim.

With a little Mike White magic, the Jets’ offense suddenly looks effective and the RB1 in this offense has true league-winning potential.
