Time to Drop Mark Andrews? Fantasy Football Week 3 Waiver Wire Outlook (2025)

Mark Andrews - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, Waiver Wire Pickups

Should I drop Mark Andrews for fantasy football Week 3? Is Mark Andrews a safe player to cut? Read the fantasy football waivers outlook.

Picking up right where he left off after his disappointing start to the 2024 season, Baltimore Ravens tight end Mark Andrews has done virtually nothing for fantasy football managers through two weeks.

Despite finishing as the TE6 in PPR points per game last season, through two weeks of 2025, Andrews has just two catches on four targets for seven yards. Andrews' ineffectiveness is surprising, considering how he performed last season. It's not like he can't play football any more.

Yet despite the Ravens scoring a combine 81 points in the first two weeks of the season, easily beating the second-place team by five points per game. Andrews has been a total non-factor. So is it time to drop Andrews? And who should you pick up in his place?

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

Should I Drop Mark Andrews in Fantasy Football?

Andrews got off to a very slow start in 2024, too. He scored 3.4 and 9.1 PPR points in Week 1 and Week 2 before dropping two straight goose eggs, failing to haul in either of his targets in the next two weeks. He got back on track shortly afterwards, though, catching four touchdowns in the next four weeks.

Andrews scored 11 receiving touchdowns last season. Those plays accounted for 77 PPR fantasy points, or over 40 percent of his production. He's a heavily touchdown-dependent player that doesn't see enough targets to have good fantasy games if he can't haul in scores.

The Ravens simply haven't thrown the ball his way much. He was still a good separator last season, so it's a bit strange that they've used him so sparingly. Still, he struggled massively early last season, then bounced back with a ton of TD catches.

It's probably not a great idea to drop him. Tight ends can remain in their prime well into their 30s. It's worth noting he did almost have a touchdown catch in Week 2, but had the ball punched out by a defender before he could complete the process of the catch, as you can see in the play above.

Who Should I Pickup for Fantasy Football?

The two biggest tight ends you should target on the waiver wire are New Orleans Saints TE Juwan Johnson and Cleveland Browns tight end Harold Fannin. Johnson has likely been nabbed in most leagues you're in at this point, as he's now the No. 2 TE overall, but he's still only 51 percent rostered according to Sleeper.

Fannin had a lesser performance in Week 2, but his playing time is still encouraging, and he figures to continue to be heavily involved in his team's offense moving forward. The Ravens, who the Browns played in Week 1, are a tough matchup for tight ends.

If you can snag either of these guys, they'll be a solid player to start in place of Andrews, who you should move to the bench. Better days are likely ahead for the veteran Ravens TE, but consistency could be a problem all season.
