Should I Add Foster Moreau In Fantasy Football? Week 10 Outlook

Is Foster Moreau a viable fantasy football option in Week 10? What can we expect from Moreau with Darren Waller placed on IR? Fantasy football outlook.

Las Vegas Raiders tight end Darren Waller finally surrendered to a hamstring injury that has kept him off the field since Week 5.

After teasing a bit of hope for fantasy managers to see his return in Week 10, the Raiders placed Waller on injured reserve with optimism for a late-season recovery. He now joins wide receiver Hunter Renfrow as the team’s second pass-catcher to miss at least the next four games on IR.

Derek Carr’s arsenal of weapons wears thin as the Raiders approach a matchup with the Indianapolis Colts, and the offense will be forced to stretch the depth chart for receiving options.

Foster Moreau is the anticipated favorite to lead the tight end position in Waller’s absence and will continue to play a significant role in the Raiders’ passing game.

Will we see more of Moreau in the Raiders’ passing attack moving forward? Should you pick up and start Foster Moreau in fantasy football Week 10? Here’s what we know.

What Has Foster Moreau Done So Far? How Has He Performed In Fantasy Football?

Foster Moreau has seen a massive workload increase while operating as the team's starting tight end. While sharing the field with Waller from Weeks 1-3, Moreau was involved in 47% of offensive snaps. His snap share jumped to 98% of offensive snaps when Waller was inactive in Weeks 7-9.

Moreau’s production in the passing game is struggling to keep pace with his increased snap share. Despite drawing a respectable 6.33 targets per game since Week 7, Moreau has been limited to just 11 receptions for 101 total yards across three games.

His average depth of target (aDOT) of 6.4 yards this season suggests his opportunities may be limited down the field, but he should continue to see a healthy dose of shallow targets. Look for Moreau to improve his completion percentage against a Colts defense ranking 20th in half-PPR points allowed to tight ends this season.

Should I Add Foster Moreau In Fantasy Football And Start Him in Week 10?

Teams on bye in Week 10 include the Ravens, Patriots, Jets, and Bengals. Fantasy managers are already scraping the bottom of the barrel to find a serviceable tight end in a brutally limited pool of consistent options. With the waiver wire picked clean, Foster Moreau may be the highest-projected option still available.

A depleted receiving corps presents Moreau with the opportunity for a solid workload. It may not be an exciting play, but he should command sufficient volume to be considered as a fantasy fill-in for a bye week or an injury. View him as a borderline TE1/TE2 and expect him to grind out a few extra points for your Week 10 matchup.
