Running Back Start 'Em, Sit 'Em Picks for Fantasy Football Week 10 (2025)

Tryone Tracy Jr. - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, NFL Injury News

Andy's running back start 'em, sit 'em picks for fantasy football Week 10 lineups (2025). Read his expert RB start/sit advice for Jordan Mason, Tyrone Tracy Jr., Kimani Vidal, others.

Welcome back, RotoBallers, to another edition of our weekend start 'em sit' em columns. Last weekend, Kareem Hunt led the way in our "boom" section, while our bust picks were still able to find some decent success despite the difficult matchups.

This week, we will spotlight a running back who had a very disappointing showing in the starting role last weekend but appears primed for a bounce-back.

In this weekly piece, we don't look at those must-start options because if you have them, you start them. Instead, we look at those mid-range RB2/flex options that are on the verge of start territory. Let's take a look at which running backs we should lock into our fantasy lineups and which ones are better off on our bench. Don't see the running back you're looking for? Be sure to check out more running back start 'em sit 'em content, and our Week 10 RB rankings on RotoBaller. Let's dive in!

Week 10 Starts - Potential Fantasy Football Booms

David Montgomery - Detroit Lions at Washington Commanders

After a string of disappointing showings, David Montgomery found success in Week 9. During their loss to the Vikings. Montgomery took 11 carries for 40 yards with a score. Through the air, he caught two of his four targets for an additional 10 yards. Thus was the first time since Week 5 that Montgomery hit the 40-yard rushing mark in a single game.

It was also just his second touchdown since Week 5.

Overall, Montgomery enters Week 10 averaging a modest 12.2 PPR points per game with 49.4 rushing yards per game. He has logged 11.1 attempts per game and has seen his role continue to shrink as the Lions have begun to rely on Jahmyr Gibbs as a legit RB1 and not just the slight edge in a committee.

However, in Week 10, facing the Commanders, Montgomery seems primed for a massive show. The Commanders have struggled defending the running game this season, allowing the 16th-most PPR opportunities to opposing RBs. Washington enters this game as 7.5-point underdogs, suggesting the Lions will have a large lead in the second half.

This will set Montgomery up for a positive game script and potentially his largest workload of the season.

Tyrone Tracy Jr. - New York Giants at Chicago Bears

Tyrone Tracy Jr. had a disappointing showing last weekend, serving as the lead back, but he is primed for a comeback in Week 10. In Week 9, Tracy could not find success against the 49ers as he totaled just 18 yards on five attempts. In this contest, veteran Devin Singletary even saw a larger share of the snaps.

However, managers should expect Tracy not only to return to the lead role but to have a much more productive showing facing the Bears on Sunday. Entering Week 10, the Bears have allowed the eighth-most PPR points to opposing RBs. Last weekend, Chase Brown was productive in both aspects of the game, tallying 37 yards on the ground and catching a hefty eight passes.

Over the first two games of the season, Tracy saw at least five targets in two games. Given his upside as a pass catcher, Tracy should be started as a solid RB2 in all PPR formats this weekend.

Kimani Vidal - Los Angeles Chargers vs. Pittsburgh Steelers

The final running back to lock into your starting lineup is Kimani Vidal. Vidal has had an inconsistent run as the team's starter, flashing immense power at times, but falling into RB3 territory in others. Last weekend, Vidal had a dud showing, tallying just 3.0 PPR points, his lowest marks since he took over the starter's job.

However, in Week 8, Vidal totaled 19.7 PPR points 9in their victory over the Vikings. Since moving up the depth chart following Omarion Hampton's ankle injury, Vidal has averaged 13.3 PPR points per game. However, he fell under the double-digit mark twice in this four-game stretch.

Despite his somewhat inconsistent showing, Vidal should be primed to bounce back despite facing a tough Pittsburgh defense. Last week, the Steelers shut down Jonathan Taylor, holding him to just 45 yards. However, the entire Indianapolis offense was out of sorts in this game, which contributed to their weak rushing attack.

Given his 70%+ snap share, Vidal should be primed to return to the 15.0+ PPR points upside in Week 10. Don't let the matchup scare you; Vidal will have high weekly TD upside, given the strong play of QB Justin Herbert, and he enters this game carrying a stellar 4.7 YPC.

Week 10 Concerns - Potential Fantasy Football Busts

TreVeyon Henderson - New England Patriots at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

With Rhamondre Stevenson (toe) not progressing well and slated to miss another game, the second-round rookie TreVeyon Henderson appears poised to make another start. However, managers should take a cautious approach with him this week.

In his first start last Sunday, the Ohio State product totaled 55 yards on 14 carries and caught four of his five targets for just 32 yards. While he was involved across all aspects of the game, he relied heavily on his receiving work to narrowly eclipse the 10.0 PPR points mark.

This Sunday, the Patriots will travel to Tampa Bay to face the Buccaneers. Entering Week 10, Tampa Bay has not been overly effective shutting down opposing RBs, allowing the 11th-most PPR points per game. However, if Henderson is given his inefficiency on the ground, he will need to see targets in the passing game to produce for fantasy.

While he is not a must-sit, he is trending toward low-end FLEX territory. If this game is not high-scoring, do not expect Henderson to see targets in the passing game, which will push him into bust territory.

Kenneth Walker III - Seattle Seahawks vs. Arizona Cardinals

Kenneth Walker saw a significant uptick in snaps in Week 9, which could suggest Seattle is starting to view him as their RB1 and not part of a committee. During the victory over the Commanders, Walker logged 57% of the snaps, his highest mark of the season. This is apparent as they also came after their Week 8 bye.

In this contest, Walker was also unexpectedly given more opportunities at the goal line, which typically have gone to Zach Charbonnet. He saw two carries inside the five and two inside the 10, his most in a single game. Entering Week 9, he has only seen three total carries within the five-yard line, while Charbonnet has seen nine.

Despite the positive impact on usage, managers should still start him with caution. In Week 10, he will face the Cardinals, who have allowed the 14th-fewest PPR points to opposing RBs this season. In addition, despite an uptick in red zone, Walker still took just 11 carries, which was a sharp drop from the 17 he saw back in Week 8.

While he may slowly be taking over the lead role, it is too early to project him to carry RB2 upside immediately. He still holds risky FLEX value in a tougher matchup.

Jordan Mason - Minnesota Vikings vs. Baltimore Ravens

Jordan Mason has been the lead runner at times this season when Aaron Jones Sr. was on the IR. However, with Jones once again banged up and in danger of being limited on Sunday, Mason has re-entered FLEX territory. As a starter, Mason has had inconsistent performances, averaging 15.0 PPR points per game over this four-game stretch.

However, he fell under the 15.0 PPR points three times, as most of his production came on a 23.6 PPR points showing against the Bengals back in Week 3. While he has a smash match against the Ravens, who have allowed the fourth-most PPR points to opposing backs, managers should start Mason only in desperation scenarios.

Entering this contest, the Mason has been very ineffective on the ground, averaging just 4.3 YPC. This is a significant drop from the stellar 5.2 YPC he posted as a 49er last season.

Mason is the definition of touchdown-dependent. Do not let this favorable matchup fool you. Mason is no more than a fringe FLEX play with high bust risk. If Mason cannot fall into the end zone, he will likely score under 10.0 PPR points.
