RotoBaller Writers Win Five FSWA Awards, Tops In The Industry!

RotoBaller writers took home an industry-leading 5 FSWA wins, including Dan Palyo-best NBA writer, Eric Samulski-best ongoing series MLB and NFL, Spencer Aguiar-best PGA writer and Keith Hernandez-best news notes writer.

The Fantasy Sports Writers Association (FSWA) recently handed out year-end awards from its list of 2021 nominees and RotoBaller was recognized in a big way. After being nominated for an industry-leading 13 awards across six different fantasy sports, RotoBaller writers brought home five wins!

The pride that comes from receiving these honors were summarized by site co-founder Alex Roberts:

What a special moment for our writers and for RotoBaller. We are absolutely thrilled for our team winning five FSWA awards, an incredible achievement in an industry filled with so many great sites and writers!

Eric, Dan, Spencer and Keith are all so smart, talented, and consistent with their approach -- we are truly honored to see them receive this type of recognition, and to be part of such a supportive team. Congrats to all the winners at RotoBaller and across the industry, and thank you to FSWA for all their hard work every year making this happen.

Eric Samulski

Best Football Ongoing Series
Best Baseball Ongoing Series

Mr. Samulski was one of four RotoBaller writers to earn two finalist nominations and he was victorious on both counts. As a former baseball player himself, his passion and advanced knowledge of the game translates through his writing. He is also an accomplished video editor whose growing body of work should be recognized as well.

Among his numerous contributions to the fantasy baseball community, Eric was awarded Best Fantasy Baseball Ongoing Series for his New Pitch Analysis articles that dove deep into the arsenal of several pitchers along with insightful advice for fantasy managers.

Eric faced stiff competition for Best Fantasy Football Ongoing Series but topped them all with his weekly article on Team Defense Streamers and Starts with tiered rankings. His column helped lead fantasy owners to victory each week with his custom Confidence Ratings and weekly must-start options at DST.

We are proud to showcase Eric's work in all fields, including his excellent Catcher's Corner podcast and Youtube videos. Look for his recurring columns only at RotoBaller!

Dan Palyo

Basketball Writer of the Year

"Thunder" Dan, much like his namesake, always comes through in the clutch. Dan has vast experience with NBA DFS analysis, and has been on point with his regular article on NBA Betting Picks that publishes multiple days each week. Dan earned a well-deserved nod for the hard work and research he puts into his articles including his preseason 9-Category Specialists, his NBA DFS Do's and Dont's guide, and his assessment of NBA DFS and Betting trends.

Dan is also the head of our DFS staff and provides in-depth analysis for multiple sports including baseball and football. Whether you are looking for NFL DFS Anchors, a comprehensive DFS strategy guide for the MLB season, or the best NBA fantasy coverage in the industry, Dan's your man.

Spencer Aguiar

Golf Writer of the Year

Another multi-sport analyst on the RotoBaller staff, Spencer has produced both NFL and NBA content, but mostly focuses on his PGA content year-round. His custom PGA Rankings Wizard data tool and corresponding PGA DFS articles provide the type of analysis that has made him FSWA's 2021 Golf Writer of the Year.

Spencer is one of the sharpest PGA minds in the industry, especially when it comes to golf betting, as evidenced by his 31 outright winners and incredible +267 units since 2017! Unsurprisingly his foot has been on the gas pedal to start the 2022 PGA season, as he's off to a roaring start with his analysis and picks. Be sure to read Spencer's PGA DFS and betting articles every week.

Keith Hernandez

Player Notes Writer of the Year

As a three-time nominee and finalist for this FSWA category, it should come as no surprise that Keith Hernandez has finally locked down the award for Player Notes Writer of the Year. He not only provides superior fantasy player news coverage in multiple sports, but he also serves as the team lead for RotoBaller on the news desk.

The term "grind" is vastly overused (and often misused) these days. It's also a word that Keith would never apply to himself, but it is what he does with modesty. Keith excels personally at providing timely fantasy baseball and football news updates and player analysis on the RotoBaller news desk. Every day, he ensures that RotoBaller readers get the latest, most important fantasy-related sports news. It is only fitting that he is being bestowed with this award.

The Best Coverage in Fantasy Sports

We would be remiss if we didn't once again recognize all the writers who were nominated for awards this year. A total of 13 nominations across six sports showcases the depth of analysis and versatility that RotoBaller brings to the fantasy sports world.

The quality and depth of analysis in all of our work is truly impressive and the proliferation of awards coming our way speaks volumes about the upward trend that RotoBaller is on.

We all elevate each other and support each other and it's a beautiful thing that you don't see a lot of other places in the biz. Big kudos to the RotoBaller co-founders for fostering that type of environment at the site.  --Dan Palyo

Congrats once again to all our award winners and nominees. We look forward to an even more successful 2022, helping our readers and viewers to win big with the best fantasy coverage across all sports!
