ANALYSIS: Dallas Cowboys running back Rico Dowdle has been part of a messy backfield. However, head coach Mike McCarthy declared that Dowdle would be the team’s featured running back moving forward. He has been the best Dallas running back this season, averaging 4.5 yards per rushing attempt.

More importantly, Dowdle is the RB33 for the year, averaging 10.5 half-point PPR fantasy points per game. The veteran running back hasn’t scored a rushing touchdown this season. Yet, he had three receiving scores, with all three coming in his past five contests.
Meanwhile, Dowdle faces the Houston Texans on Monday night. The Texans have one of the top run defenses in the NFL. They have held running backs to 16.8 fantasy points per game, the fifth-fewest in the NFL. Furthermore, Houston has given up only two rushing touchdowns to running backs over their past five games.
