Thunder Dan Palyo's MLB Strikeout Prop Bets Today: Best Pitcher K Props (4/28/2026)

Payton Tolle - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, MLB Prospects

Today's best MLB strikeout prop bets and pitcher K props for Tuesday, April 28. Thunder Dan Palyo's expert MLB player prop picks, betting odds, and advanced stat analysis to help you win.

Last Friday, I ended up on a lot of unders in this piece, including Paul Skenes, who promptly went out and nearly pitched seven perfect innings to go over his prop line for the first time. Taking unders on stud pitchers (Cole Ragans did the same thing to me the following day) is a risky proposition, as they can harness their best stuff on any given day. Also, betting on or against your favorite team (I have dozens of examples of me doing this with the Pirates) is an automatic jinx or reverse jinx.

It's all OVER props for me today, with a strong crop of pitchers on the bump, but I will reiterate that you should be looking at unders daily, too. I'll offer up a few of my top picks here today, but you'll need to grab a premium pass to see all five of my favorite K prop wagers. Our top MLB writers are posting their favorite props in Discord daily, so gain additional access to those picks as well with a premium RotoBaller membership.

In this article, I'll provide my favorite prop bets for MLB games on Tuesday, April 26, 2026. Odds will change during the day, so lock in those bets as early as possible and always shop for the best number across multiple sportsbooks or prediction markets! High-Confidence Strikeout Picks

Jose Soriano OVER 5.5 strikeouts (-142 DraftKings)

Has there been a better story this season than Jose Soriano and his almost pristine start to the 2026 season? After spending the entire 2025 season as an innings-eater without much strikeout potential, Soriano has tweaked his approach this year to harness his K upside, while also becoming an even more effective pitcher in terms of run prevention.

Soriano's 0.24 ERA leads MLB, and his 30.7% strikeout rate is a 10% jump from last season. It's no fluke, though, as he's beefed up his SwStr% to 13.4% and continues to get hitters to chase his sinker/slider combo down and out of the zone.

Soriano continues to get a ton of ground balls (57.6% GB%), but that number is actually down from last year, when he was up over 60%. He's pitching less to contact than he was before, increasing his slider usage and throwing more four-seamers and fewer sinkers.

He's coming off an effective outing against Toronto, but one where he only had four strikeouts and was forced into an early exit (by his standards) after only five innings. He's only failed to get six strikeouts twice this season - against the Cubs and Blue Jays, two offenses with very tough lineups full of veteran hitters.

Today's matchup is against the White Sox, a team that has improved offensively this season for sure, but is still full of high-strikeout hitters. Yes, Munetaka Murakami is crushing home runs at a rapid pace, but he's also whiffing at a 34% rate. In fact, there are four Chicago hitters with K-rates over 30% against RHP in this lineup today.

We are eating some juice on this line, but this is a great spot for Soriano, and I'm highly confident he can hit this mark. I'm even okay taking him over 6.5 strikeouts at plus odds if you want to run up the ladder one rung.

Payton Tolle OVER 4.5 strikeouts (-130 Fanatics)

What a debut by Tolle! He struck out 11 Yankees in his first start of 2026, compiling an impressive 19.4% SwStr%.

This Toronto lineup, as I mentioned earlier, will be a good test for Tolle today. However, they are trending up in strikeouts lately, and Tolle's strong numbers against the Yanks make this low number of 4.5 quite appealing.

Tolle had fantastic command of his high-90s fastball in his first start, and used that pitch to both get ahead of hitters in the count and finish them off by going up in the zone with it when he had two strikes.

Tolle has flashed serious strikeout stuff in his limited big league experience and throughout the minors. There's some potential to give up home runs as a fly-ball-prone pitcher, but I think his strikeout floor is going to be 5 or 6 just about every time out, based on what we've seen from him so far. The kid has electric stuff, and I'm going to take advantage of the market's skepticism about him by smashing this prop at 4.5 and laddering it up to 5.5 or even 6.5 today, too.
