Thunder Dan's best MLB player prop bets for today (5/3/2026). Bet his home run props (HR props) and win money betting on MLB player props, including Jordan Walker, Brice Turang, and others!
It's shaping up to be a beautiful day for baseball with very few weather concerns across the country. Sundays in the springtime are made for baseball, and today's crop of MLB games brings us ample opportunities for wagering on player props.
We are going to ride some hot bats today and target a few major mismatches. We have one of the hottest hitters on the planet on the right side of his splits, and in a different game, one of the most home run-prone pitchers taking the hill against a dangerous offense.
Below, you'll read about my favorite home run props from MLB games on Sunday, May 3, 2026. The current odds given reflect the best price as of the publication, but remember to always shop around at other sportsbooks so you can get more value on your wagers. Odds can vary significantly from one sportsbook to another.
MLB Prop Bets - Today's Home Run Prop Picks (5/3/2026)
Jordan Walker OVER 0.5 Home Runs (+425 BetMGM)
How great a story has Walker's post-hype breakout been this year? I'll be the first to admit that I didn't think he had it him, and the last few Walker truthers out there who had held onto hope deserve to take all the victory laps they want!
Walker crushed his tenth home run of the season yesterday and has been objectively one of the best hitters in baseball this season. His .982 OPS ranks 9th in MLB among qualified hitters, and he's sitting just below guys like Aaron Judge, Mike Trout, and Max Muncy.

We have some elite hitting conditions today at Busch Stadium as the temperature should be in the mid-70s, and winds are blowing out to left-center around 15 to 20 mph. Walker hasn't needed much help from the wind this year against lefties, as he's hit three of his home runs off southpaws in just 25 at-bats, while barreling up the baseball at an absurd 25% rate.
I know Justin Wrobleski has been pretty good in his first handful of starts for the Dodgers, but he's not missing many bats with just a 6% SwStr%. If Walker squares him up today, the ball has a pretty good chance of leaving the yard. With his odds still being over +400 despite having double-digit home runs this season, it almost feels like a price enforcement bet at this point, and the good hitting weather is just the icing on top.
Brice Turang OVER 0.5 Home Runs (+680 FanDuel)
Turang and the Brew Crew get a matchup with batting practice-tossing Zack Littell of the Nats today. The veteran righty has allowed 13 home runs already this year in just six games! Ten of those long balls have come to lefties this season, and two of them came off the bat of Turang the last two times he faced Littell back on April 12th!
Litell's xERA of 8.28 is actually worse than his ERA of 7.85, meaning that he's getting absolutely destroyed on batted balls. He's allowing a .496 ISO and 19% Barrel% to left-handed hitters this year, which is just...amazingly bad.

We don't usually think of Turang as a power hitter, but he finished last year on a power binge and has picked it back up this season with four more home runs over the first month. He's sporting a 17.2% Barrel% against righties, so this matchup would pop in a big way even if we tossed out the BvP and pretended that Turang had never seen Littell before.
These odds are simply too good to pass up! Turang has pop in his bat and is facing a pitcher who is getting dominated by lefties this season. The BvP folks might on this pick just by looking at the game log, but the advanced stats back this play strongly as well.
