Thunder Dan's best MLB player prop bets for today (4/20/2026). Bet his home run props (HR props) and win money betting on MLB player props, including Matt Olson and others.
We have a smaller slate today than usual, with quite a few teams getting a day off before their next series. But with ten games to choose from, there are certainly still some juicy spots for home run props, don't worry!
It's cold again here on the East Coast, but we have some favorable weather for hitting elsewhere, and a game at Coors Field with the Dodgers wrapping up their four-game set with the Rockies that looks appealing, too. Two of these bets today have odds longer than +750, so I'm really hunting for a value dinger with a few young sluggers in great spots.
Below, you'll read about my favorite home run props from MLB games on Monday, April 20, 2026. All odds are based on what was available at the time of publishing, so make sure to shop around and see if you can find better odds on other books throughout the day. Now let's get to the picks, already!
MLB Prop Bets - Today's Home Run Prop Picks (4/20/2026)
Matt Olson OVER 0.5 Home Runs (+425 BetMGM)
Olson and the Braves will be playing in chilly Washington today, but I cannot help but get sucked into this matchup against Nationals righty Jake Irvin.
Irvin hasn't pitched badly this year by any means, but he's still getting hit hard by lefties. Those Statcast numbers stand out (51.6% HH%, 22.6%), and there's no bigger power bat to punish an Irvin mistake in this lineup than Olson.

Among the Braves starters, Olson trails only Drake Baldwin in HRs and Barrel% against RHP this year (3 HR, 27.5% Barrel%), and Baldwin's numbers have been out of this world. I'm not sure Baldwin maintains the same type of power production, but we know Olson has done it year after year for nearly a decade.
Olson crushes four-seamers and cutters from RHP, which are two of Irvin's most-used pitches to LHH. Don't be fooled by Olson's .188 average against Irvin either. He faced him six times last year, hitting the ball with an exit velocity over 97 mph in four of those at-bats. The last time he saw him, he drilled a home run 443 feet. Look for Olson to be ready for Irvin today and to drive one deep into the right-field stands if he gets his pitch.
